Pharmacodynamics. Pikovit forte film-coated tablets contain a combination of vitamins. vitamins are substances that take part in the regulation of many biochemical processes in the body. the effects of the use of vitamins in the body are mainly physiological and not pharmacodynamic.
B vitamins (B1, B2, B6, B12, pantothenic acid, nicotinamide, folic acid) are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, and also play an important role in the functioning of the nervous system. Folic acid is essential for the normal formation, regeneration and functioning of blood cells. Vitamin A is essential for the development of epithelial cells and the synthesis of visual pigment. Vitamin D regulates calcium absorption and promotes proper mineralization of bones and teeth. Vitamin C controls the absorption of iron and takes part in many redox processes in the body. Vitamin E is a physiological antioxidant that protects cell membranes from damage and maintains cellular function.
Film-coated tablets Pikovit Forte contain non-cariogenic sweeteners - maltitol, lures and aspartame. Maltite and lures are metabolized in very small quantities and very slowly by bacteria in the oral flora.
Water-soluble vitamins (B vitamins, vitamin C) are well absorbed in quantities according to the daily requirement. Excessive amounts are excreted in the urine, in some cases in the feces. These vitamins are stored in a limited amount in the body, so they must be taken regularly in order to maintain appropriate tissue concentrations.
In the presence of fat, orally administered fat-soluble vitamins A and D are well absorbed in the small intestine. Absorption of vitamin E is relatively low (25–85% of the dose). When used in large quantities, these vitamins are stored in the liver and are therefore more toxic than water-soluble vitamins.
Pharmacokinetics. Has not been studied.
The preparation is prescribed for children:
Pikovit Forte is not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet.
For children aged 7 years and older, for the treatment of hypovitaminosis, 1 tablet is used once a day after meals, for the purpose of prevention - 1 tablet every other day.
Pikovit Forte film-coated tablets must be sucked in the mouth.
With a reduced appetite, the tablets are recommended to be used for 2 months, for other indications and, if necessary, depending on the duration and frequency of symptoms after consulting a doctor.
Hypersensitivity to active substances or any of the components of the preparation; hypervitaminosis a and d; phenylketonuria; nephrolithiasis; gout; hyperuricemia; erythremia; erythrocytosis; thrombophlebitis; thromboembolism; violation of the metabolism of iron and copper; hypercalcemia; hypercalciuria; thyrotoxicosis; chronic glomerulonephritis; chronic heart failure; history of sarcoidosis; ulcers of the stomach and duodenum (due to the possibility of an increase in the acidity of gastric juice); tuberculosis.
From the side of the immune system: possible hypersensitivity reactions to the components of the preparation, including anaphylactic shock, bronchospasm, angioedema.
From the side of metabolism and digestion: hypercalcemia.
From the side of the central nervous system: headache, dizziness, drowsiness.
From the side of the organ of vision: visual impairment.
From the gastrointestinal tract: dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, belching, stomach pain, constipation, diarrhea, increased secretion of gastric juice.
On the part of the skin and subcutaneous tissue: rash, urticaria, itching, erythema.
On the part of the kidneys and urinary tract: discoloration of urine, hypercalciuria.
General violations and violations of the conditions of admission: hyperthermia, irritability, hyperhidrosis.
During prolonged use of high doses, the following adverse reactions may occur:
from the side of metabolism and digestion: hyperuricemia, impaired glucose tolerance, hyperglycemia.
From the side of the central nervous system: paresthesia.
From the heart: arrhythmia.
From the gastrointestinal tract: gastrointestinal disorders.
On the part of the skin and subcutaneous tissue: hair loss, seborrhea.
On the part of the kidneys and urinary tract: renal failure.
Laboratory indicators: a temporary increase in the level of AST, alkaline phosphatase, LDH.
If there is a hypersensitivity reaction on the skin (rash, itching), the preparation pikovit forte should be canceled.
It is prescribed with caution to patients with liver diseases, acute nephritis, cardiac decompensation, cholelithiasis, chronic pancreatitis, allergic diseases, idiosyncrasy, neoplasms.
It is impossible to plan pregnancy earlier than 6-12 months after high-dose retinol therapy (more than 10,000 IU) due to the fact that at this time there is a risk of embryonic disorders under the influence of a high content of vitamin A in the body. Yellow urine may occur due to vitamin A content. This effect is safe.
Before concomitant intake of other vitamin and mineral-vitamin preparations, you should definitely consult your doctor.
Patients with diabetes mellitus can use Pikovit Forte, but they should take into account that each coated tablet contains 0.84 g of maltitol. Insulin is required for the metabolism of maltitol, but this need for insulin is insignificant due to the slow hydrolysis and absorption of the preparation in the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, the energy value of maltitol (10 kJ / g or 2.4 kcal / g) is significantly lower in comparison with the energy value of sucrose.
Specific information about some of the excipients. Pikovit Forte contains maltitol (E965) and liquid maltitol. Patients with rare hereditary forms of fructose intolerance should not take this preparation.
Aspartame is a source of phenylalanine, which in turn can be harmful for PKU patients.
Use during pregnancy and lactation. Do not accept.
Children. The preparation is used in children 7 years old (see APPLICATION).
The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving or operating other mechanisms. The preparation is used in children.
Due to the possibility of developing hypervitaminosis, the concomitant use of pikovit forte coated tablets with other preparations that contain vitamin a, or with oral retinoids is not recommended. when treating sulfonamides, high doses of vitamin C should be avoided to prevent crystalluria. pyridoxine reduces the effectiveness of levodopa if the patient is taking levodopa alone. riboflavin interferes with absorption and reduces the effectiveness of antibiotics. therefore, it should be taken at least 3 hours before taking the antibiotic.
Combined use with certain preparations (for example, tetracyclines, quinolines, cholestyramine) can lead to interaction with calcium ions.
Taking very high doses for a long period of time can cause hypervitaminosis of vitamins a and d, however, the likelihood of an overdose when using pikovit forte tablets is minimal.
Sweeteners beckon and maltitol are poorly absorbed in the digestive tract. Therefore, taking doses that are higher than recommended can cause diarrhea and flatulence.
In case of overdose, treatment is symptomatic.
In a place protected from light and moisture at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C.
