Pikovit syrup contains 9 important vitamins that are involved in the regulation of many biochemical processes in the body. the effects of vitamins and minerals in the body are mainly physiological rather than pharmacodynamic. they play an important role in the maintenance of vital functions and psychological health.
B vitamins (B1, B2, B6, pantothenic acid and nicotinamide) are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, and also play an important role in the functioning of the nervous system. Vitamin A is essential for the development of epithelial cells and for the synthesis of visual pigment. Vitamin D regulates calcium absorption and promotes proper mineralization of bones and teeth. Vitamin C controls the absorption of iron and takes part in many redox processes in the body.
There are no data on the pharmacokinetics of Pikovit syrup. Water-soluble vitamins (B vitamins, vitamin C and biotin) are well absorbed in quantities that meet daily needs. Excessive amounts are excreted in the urine, in some cases in the feces. These vitamins are in limited quantities in the body, so they should be taken regularly in order to maintain appropriate tissue concentrations.
In the presence of fat when ingested, fat-soluble vitamins A and D are well absorbed in the small intestine.
The use of pikovit syrup is mainly intended for children:
For the prevention of hypovitaminosis in children aged 1-3 years - 1/2 measuring spoon (2.5 ml) of syrup per day; 4–6 years old - 1 scoop (5 ml) of syrup per day; 7-14 years old - 1.5 measuring spoons (7.5 ml) of syrup per day.
For the treatment of hypovitaminosis in children aged 1-3 years - 1 scoop (5 ml) of syrup 2 times a day; 4–6 years old - 1 scoop (5 ml) of syrup 3 times a day; 7-14 years old - 1 scoop (5 ml) of syrup 3, maximum 4 times a day.
The syrup should be given to the child after meals using a measuring spoon, or added to tea or fruit puree.
With a reduced appetite, the syrup should be taken for 1 month, for other indications - as needed, depending on the duration and frequency of symptoms after consulting a doctor.
Hypersensitivity to active substances or any excipient; hypervitaminosis a and d; nephrolithiasis; gout; hyperuricemia; erythremia; erythrocytosis; thrombophlebitis; thromboembolism; fructose intolerance syndrome; glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome; violation of the metabolism of iron and copper; hypercalcemia; hypercalciuria; thyrotoxicosis; chronic glomerulonephritis; chronic heart failure; history of sarcoidosis; ulcers of the stomach and duodenum (due to the possibility of an increase in the acidity of gastric juice); tuberculosis; children's age up to 1 year.
When using the preparation in recommended doses, side effects do not occur.

If any adverse reactions occur, the preparation should be discontinued.
Before taking other vitamin, mineral and / or mineral-vitamin preparations at the same time, you should definitely consult your doctor.
Pikovit syrup is not recommended for patients with diabetes mellitus, since 5 ml of syrup (1 scoop) contains 3 g of sugar.
It is prescribed with caution to patients with liver disease, acute nephritis, cardiac decompensation, cholelithiasis, chronic pancreatitis, allergic diseases, idiosyncrasy, neoplasms.
Pregnancy should not be planned earlier than 6-12 months after high-dose retinol therapy (10,000 IU), due to the risk of embryonic disorders under the influence of high vitamin A content in the body. The urine may turn yellow due to the content of vitamin A in the preparation. This effect is safe.
Specific information about some excipients. Pikovit contains sucrose, glucose and E124 azo dye. Patients with rare hereditary forms of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrose-isomaltase deficiency should not take this preparation. E124 azo dye can cause the development of allergic reactions.
During pregnancy and lactation, you can take vitamins and minerals after consulting your doctor. Doses of vitamins in Pikovit syrup are adapted for children.
Children. The preparation is used in children over the age of 1 year.
There are no reports on the ability of the preparation to influence the reaction rate when driving and working with other mechanisms.
Due to the risk of developing hypervitaminosis, the simultaneous use of the preparation pikovit with other preparations containing vitamin a, or with oral retinoids is not recommended. when treating sulfonamides, high doses of vitamin C should be avoided to prevent the development of crystalluria. pyridoxine reduces the effectiveness of levodopa if the patient is taking levodopa alone. riboflavin interferes with absorption and reduces the effectiveness of antibiotics. therefore, it should be taken at least 3 hours before taking the antibiotic.
When taken in recommended doses, intoxication is unlikely. long-term use of pikovit in high doses can lead to the development of hypervitaminosis a and d, although the likelihood of an overdose of syrup is negligible. in case of an overdose, treatment is symptomatic.
In the original packaging to protect from light at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C. after opening the bottle, use the syrup within 2 months.
