    Pregna-5 is intended for pregnant women, during pregnancy planning, in the postpartum period and during breastfeeding.

    Active ingredients

    Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) belongs to the group of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-3 PUFAs) that are not synthesized in the human body, and therefore it is very important to get enough of them daily.
    With a deficiency of omega-3 PUFAs, the risk of perinatal pathology, disturbances in the mental and physical development of the fetus, congenital malformations of the nervous system, vision, heart, complications during pregnancy, such as: habitual miscarriage, premature birth, placental insufficiency, intrauterine growth retardation, increases ...
    Omega-3 PUFAs when planning pregnancy are necessary for:
    • maturation of germ cells (both eggs and sperm) DHA ensures the formation of highly differentiated germ cells;
    • assistance to the fertilization process;
    • increasing the likelihood of fertilization.
    Omega-3 PUFAs are indispensable during pregnancy and ensure the normal physiological course of pregnancy, because:
    • contribute to the formation, maturation and proper functioning of the placenta
    • normalize the duration of pregnancy, their action is aimed at preventing miscarriage and premature birth;
    • prevent the development of premature placental abruption
    • prevent the development of gestosis (toxicosis), improve the course of pregnancy;
    • improve blood circulation in the placenta;
    • reduce the risk of postpartum depression, improve mood, memory, regulate metabolic processes, and reduce body mass coefficient.
    DHA intake by a woman during pregnancy and lactation contributes to the proper development of the retina, the nervous and immune systems of the fetus and newborn. Fetal brain formation occurs before the 9th week of pregnancy, so a woman planning to become a mother should take DHA before conception. DHA crosses the placenta from mother to fetus and is also excreted in breast milk.
    Folates are involved in the synthesis of nucleic acids, protein metabolism, growth and cell division, and play an important role in the formation of blood cells. One of the most severe pathologies associated with folate deficiency is the neural tube opening in the fetus. Also, folate deficiency leads to a whole spectrum of various anomalies of the brain, limbs, ears, urinary system, as well as the formation of a cleft in the upper palate, defects of the cardiovascular system. For normal intrauterine development and growth of the fetus, an important factor is a sufficient concentration of folates in the body of the expectant mother. A daily intake of folic acid is recommended before pregnancy, during pregnancy and during lactation. Taking folate can help reduce fatigue and support the physiological functions of a woman during pregnancy and lactation.
    Iron is the main component of hemoglobin and contributes to the production of red blood cells, which are involved in the transport of oxygen to the cells of all body systems. Iron is essential for the proper functioning of the immune system and maintenance of cognitive functions; helps to reduce feelings of fatigue and maintain proper energy metabolism; participates in the process of cell division, which is especially important during pregnancy.
    Vitamin D promotes absorption and assimilation of calcium and phosphorus, maintains proper blood calcium levels, helps to maintain healthy teeth and bones of a pregnant woman, contributes to the formation of the fetal skeleton and prevents the development of rickets in a newborn baby. Vitamin D supports the functioning of smooth muscles and the immune system, and is involved in the process of cell division.
    Vitamin D deficiency is considered a health problem worldwide. Vitamin D deficiency can be one of the factors that leads to premature ovarian failure. Vitamin D deficiency is common in women with polycystic ovary syndrome, especially those who are overweight or obese.
    Iodine contributes to the functioning of the nervous system and the maintenance of cognitive functions, ensuring proper energy metabolism and helping to keep the skin healthy. Iodine is involved in the production of thyroid hormones and contributes to the proper functioning of the thyroid gland.
