    Product description

    Procto-Hemolan Rectal Cream is a medicine for hemorrhoids that heals and relieves symptoms caused by haemorrhoids (pain, burning, itching and tight skin). It contains lidocaine, which has a strong anesthetic effect, thanks to which it very quickly soothes the most troublesome symptoms: pain, burning and itching. Tribenoside reduces the inflammation present in hemorrhoids, reduces the permeability of blood vessels and improves vascular wall tension. It also has little effect on blood clots. In this way, it fights the causes of ailments and prevents their recurrence. The substances contained in the cream act locally and are not released into the systemic circulation.

    Indications

    External and internal haemorrhoids.

    Composition

    1g of cream contains:
    • active substances: tribenoside 50 mg, lidocaine hydrochloride 20 mg,
    • excipients: cetyl alcohol, stearic acid, liquid paraffin, isopropyl palmitate, macrogol cetostearyl ether, sorbitan stearate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sorbitol, non-crystallising liquid, purified water.

    Action

    Healing and soothing for symptoms caused by haemorrhoids (burning, itching, pain, skin tightness).

    Dosage

    Use the preparation rectally. Using the applicator included in the package, apply the cream in an amount of about 1 cm to the affected area. Use twice a day, morning and evening. After the acute symptoms subside, the preparation can be used once a day. When applying the cream, wash the area around the anus thoroughly.
    Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
    If you use more medicine than recommended, immediately consult your doctor or pharmacist. There are no known cases of overdose.
    Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Continue treatment according to the dosing schedule. If you have any further questions about the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to any of the preparation components, especially in the case of known hypersensitivity to local anesthetics (used, for example, in dentistry for anesthesia).

    Storage

    Store the preparation below 25 ° C.
    Do not freeze
    Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
    Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the tube and on the box. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

    Side effects

    Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
    In the event of any of the symptoms listed below, stop taking the medications and consult your doctor.
    Rare (affects 1 to 10 in 10,000 people):
    • a slight burning sensation,
    • ache,
    • increased intestinal peristalsis.

    Interactions

    Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations you are taking, or have recently taken, and about the preparations you are going to take.
    There are no known interactions between rectally administered ProctoHemolan and other preparations.

    Warnings and Precautions

    • Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using Procto-Hemolan.
    • If, after 7 days of using the preparation, no improvement is observed or the symptoms of the disease worsen, consult a doctor in order to determine the cause of the disease.
    • When using this medication, you should take good care of your personal hygiene around the anus and prevent bowel problems.
    • Procto-Hemolan contains cetyl alcohol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate. Cetyl alcohol may cause a local skin reaction (e.g. contact dermatitis). Methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate may cause allergic reactions (possible delayed reactions).
    Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
    • if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or you think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
    Driving and using machines:
    • there are no data on the effect of the preparation on the ability to drive and use machines.
