    Product description 

    Quetixol tablets are indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia, the treatment of bipolar disorders:
    • for the treatment of moderate to severe manic episodes associated with bipolar disorders;
    • for the treatment of major depressive episodes associated with bipolar disorder;
    • for the prevention of relapse in patients with bipolar disorder in whom manic attacks were treated with quetiapine.

    Compound

    Active ingredient: quetiapine;
    1 coated tablet contains 25 mg or 100 mg or 200 mg of quetiapine fumarate equivalent to quetiapine;
    Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose povidone K29-32; calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate; sodium starch (type A); lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate;
    for 25 mg shell Opadry II Pink 33G34594 (hypromellose 6cP, titanium dioxide (E 171), lactose monohydrate, macrogol 3350; triacetin; iron oxide yellow (E172), iron oxide red (E172));
    for 100 mg shell Opadry II Yellow 33G32578 (hypromellose 6cP, titanium dioxide (E 171), lactose monohydrate, macrogol 3350; triacetin; iron oxide yellow (E172));
    for 200 mg shell Opadry II White 33G28435 (hypromellose 6cP, titanium dioxide (E 171), lactose monohydrate, macrogol 3350; triacetin).

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
    Concomitant use of cytochrome P450 3A4 inhibitors such as HIV protease inhibitors, azole antifungals, erythromycin, clarithromycin and nefazodone.

    Mode of application

    There are different dosing schedules for each indication. It should be ensured that the patient is prescribed the dosage according to his condition. Quetixol can be taken with or without food.

    Overdose

    In general, the symptoms and manifestations of overdose reported were due to an increase in the known pharmacological effects of the drug, such as drowsiness and sedation, tachycardia, arterial hypotension and anticholinergic effects.
    There is no specific antidote for quetiapine. In the case of severe intoxication, the need for multidirectional measures should be considered and intensive care procedures are recommended, including the restoration and maintenance of airway patency, ensuring adequate oxygenation and ventilation of the lungs, monitoring and supporting the activity of the cardiovascular system.

    Side effects

    When taking quetiapine, the following adverse reactions were more frequently reported (10%): drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, withdrawal syndrome, increased serum triglycerides, increased total serum cholesterol (mainly LDL cholesterol), decreased levels HDL cholesterol, weight gain, decreased hemoglobin and extrapyramidal symptoms.

    Interaction

    The drug should be used with caution in patients receiving other drugs with anticholinergic (muscarinic) effects.
    Despite the fact that quetiapine primarily acts on the central nervous system (CNS), Quetixol should be used with caution in combination with other drugs that have a similar effect, and with alcohol.
    Concomitant use of cytochrome P450 3A4 inhibitors such as HIV protease inhibitors, azole antifungals, erythromycin, clarithromycin and nefazodone.

    Storage conditions

    Store in original packaging at temperatures not exceeding 25°C.
    Keep out of the reach of children.
