Riboxin is a cardiac medicine. It has antihypoxic, antiarrhythmic properties, has an anabolic effect.

Indications for use

As part of the complex treatment of ischemic heart disease (state after myocardial infarction, angina pectoris), heart rhythm disorders, intoxication with cardiac glycoside preparations, treatment of cardiomyopathies of various genesis, myocardial dystrophies (on the background of heavy physical exertion, infectious and endocrine genesis), myocarditis, liver disease (hepatitis , liver cirrhosis, fatty liver dystrophy), uroproporphyria.

Composition

inosine - 200 mg;

auxiliary substances: potato starch; powdered sugar; calcium stearate; coating mixture "Opadry II Yellow" 33G22623 (hypromellose (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose); lactose, monohydrate; titanium dioxide (E 171); polyethylene glycol (macrogol) 3000; triacetin; quinoline yellow (E 104); yellow sunset FCF (E 110); iron oxide (E 172); indigo carmine (E 132)).

Contraindication

hypersensitivity to inosine or other components of the preparation;
gout;
hyperuricemia;
kidney failure.

Application method

Tablets should be taken internally, before meals, do not chew and drink with a sufficient amount of water. The daily dose is determined individually and is 600-2400 mg (3-12 tablets) for adults. For adults, in the first days of treatment, the daily dose is 600-800 mg (1 tablet 3-4 times a day). If the preparation is well tolerated, increase the dose within 2-3 days from 1200 mg (2 tablets 3 times a day) to 2400 mg.

The duration of the treatment course is from 4 weeks to 1.5-3 months.

With uroproporphyria, the daily dose is 800 mg (1 tablet 4 times a day), the duration of the treatment course is 1-3 months.

Features of application

Inosine should not be used for immediate correction of cardiac dysfunction.

If itching and hyperemia of the skin appear, treatment with the preparation should be discontinued.

Riboxin tablets contain lactose. Patients with rare hereditary conditions of galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome should not take the preparation.

In case of kidney diseases, it is advisable to prescribe the preparation only when, in the opinion of the doctor, the expected effect exceeds the possible risk of use.

With long-term use of inosine, the concentration of uric acid in the blood and urine should be monitored.

The study of the effectiveness and safety of the preparation for this group of patients was not conducted, so it should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Children

Do not use in children due to the lack of data on the safety of use.

Drivers

The preparation does not have a negative effect on the ability to drive a car and work with complex mechanisms.

Overdose

Symptoms: increased side effects, allergic reactions, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain.

Treatment: discontinuation of the preparation and symptomatic therapy.

Side effects

From the side of the immune system, skin and subcutaneous tissue: allergic/anaphylactic reactions (including itching, skin hyperemia, urticaria, rashes, anaphylactic shock);

From the side of metabolism and metabolism: hyperuricemia, with long-term use in large doses, exacerbation of gout is possible;

From the cardiovascular system: tachycardia, arterial hypotension, which may be accompanied by headache, shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, sweating;

Others: increase in the level of uric acid in the blood, general weakness.
