The preparation narrows blood vessels at the site of application, reduces swelling of the nasal mucosa and upper respiratory tract, reduces nasal discharge, restores nasal breathing, helps to restore aeration of the paranasal sinuses, middle ear cavity, which prevents the development of bacterial complications (sinusitis, otitis media). when applied nasally in therapeutic concentrations, it does not irritate the nasal mucosa, does not cause hyperemia.
Chamomile oil and eucalyptol have a local anti-inflammatory effect, facilitate the passage of mucus. The preparation gently acts on the irritated mucous membrane of the nasal passages, moisturizes and protects it from excessive drying.
The action of the preparation begins quickly (a few minutes after application). The duration of the effect is up to 12 hours. With local intranasal application, it does not have a systemic effect.
Acute respiratory diseases accompanied by rhinitis; rhinitis of different etiology (allergic rhinitis, vasomotor rhinitis); to restore drainage and nasal breathing in diseases of the paranasal sinuses, eustachitis; to eliminate edema before diagnostic or surgical procedures in the nasal cavity.
Shake the bottle vigorously before each use. remove the protective cap. Before using the dispensing device for the first time, press it several times until an aerosol jet appears. insert the tip into the nostril and press the dispenser, while taking a deep breath through the nose, without the need to tilt the head back. then repeat the procedure by inserting the tip into the other nostril. after use, wipe the tip clean and close the bottle with a protective cap.
The preparation is prescribed for adults and children over the age of 6 years, 1 injection into each nasal passage with an interval of 10-12 hours, 2 times a day.
Do not use the preparation for more than 5-7 days.
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation; atrophic rhinitis; the use of MAO inhibitors and other preparations that can increase blood pressure; increased intraocular pressure, angle-closure glaucoma; severe cardiovascular diseases (ag, angina pectoris); pheochromocytoma; hyperthyroidism; diabetes.
From the respiratory system: frequent (≥1-10%) - burning or dryness of the nasal mucosa, sneezing; single (≥0.01-0.1%) - after the effect of the preparation is over, - a feeling of severe nasal congestion (reactive hyperemia).
On the part of the digestive system: single (≥0.01–0.1%) - nausea.
With long-term continuous use of vasoconstrictor preparations in high doses, reversible edema of the nasal mucosa (rhinitis medicamentosa) is possible. These reactions can occur after 5-7 days of using the preparation; in case of further use, atrophy of the nasal mucosa is possible.
From the nervous system: sporadic (≥0.01–0.1%) - insomnia, fatigue, headache, anxiety.
From the side of the cardiovascular system: infrequent (≥0.1-1%) - local nasal application can cause systemic effects such as palpitation, increased heart rate and increased blood pressure.
The preparation should not be used for more than 7 days. prolonged use can lead to a decrease in the effect of the preparation, cause the development of atrophic rhinitis and reactive hyperemia with rhinitis medicamentosa, as well as a decrease in activity and damage to the epithelium of the nasal mucosa.
Application during pregnancy or lactation. It is not recommended to use the preparation during pregnancy or lactation.
The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving or working with other mechanisms. With prolonged use of the preparation in high doses, its effect on the cardiovascular and central nervous system cannot be ruled out. In such cases, the ability to drive vehicles or operate other mechanisms may decrease.
Children. Do not use in children under 6 years of age.
This preparation should not be used in combination with MAO inhibitors or within 2 weeks after using MAO inhibitors due to the risk of developing ag.
The preparation should be used with caution in patients taking bromocriptine, since disorders of the cardiovascular system may develop.
The effects of betanidine, debrisoquine and guanethidine may be weakened.
In case of an overdose or accidental ingestion, the following symptoms may occur: constriction of the pupils, nausea, vomiting, cyanosis, fever, tachycardia, arrhythmia, collapse, vascular insufficiency, arthritis, respiratory disorders, pulmonary edema, cardiac arrest, mental disorders may occur, and also suppression of the central nervous system, which are accompanied by drowsiness, a decrease in body temperature, bradycardia, arterial hypotension, respiratory arrest and the possible development of coma.
Treatment: gastric lavage, intake of activated charcoal, symptomatic therapy. You should not take vasopressor preparations.
