    Product description

    Salofalk gastro-resistant granules of prolonged action are indicated for the treatment of exacerbations and the prevention of recurrence of ulcerative colitis.

    Compound

    Active substance: mesalazine;
    1 sachet (930 mg of granules) contains mesalazine 500 mg or 1 sachet (1860 mg of granules) contains mesalazine 1000 mg;
    Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, colloidal silicon dioxide, polyacrylate dispersion, magnesium stearate, simethicone emulsion, methacrylate copolymer (type A), triethyl citrate, talc, titanium dioxide (E 171), sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (E1), asp acid, sweet vanilla flavor, povidone.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to mesalazine, to any of the components of the preparation or to salicylates, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute stage, severe hepatic and / or renal failure, hemorrhagic diathesis.

    Mode of application

    Do not chew Salofalk granules. The contents of a sachet "Grane-Styx" 500 mg or 1000 mg should be poured onto the tongue and swallowed together with a sufficient amount of liquid without chewing.
    Both in the treatment of exacerbations of inflammation, and during long-term treatment, Salofalk granules should be used regularly and constantly to achieve the desired therapeutic effect.
    Usually, exacerbation of ulcerative colitis subsides within 8-12 weeks for most patients, the dose can be reduced to a maintenance one.
    The duration of use is determined by the doctor.

    Application features

    Pregnant
    Salofalk granules should be taken during pregnancy only when the expected benefit from the use outweighs the risk.
    Children
    Cannot be used in children under 6 years of age.
    Drivers
    In cases where dizziness is observed during treatment, you should refrain from driving and working with mechanisms.

    Overdose

    There are data on cases of overdose (for example, willful committing suicide with a high oral dose of mesalazine), do not indicate renal or hepatic toxicity. To date, no cases of intoxication and specific antidotes have been reported. There is no specific antidote; treatment should be symptomatic and supportive. If necessary, electrolyte infusion (forced diuresis) is used.

    Side effects

    Adverse reactions most often observed in clinical studies: diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain, headache, vomiting and rash. Hypersensitivity reactions have sometimes developed.
