Description
Product description
Sebidin lozenges are a preparation that combines the intakes of chlorhexidine dihydrochloride and vitamin C. Chlorhexidine dihydride has an antibacterial effect: it is bacteriostatic and bactericidal against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and Candida albicans yeasts. Vitamin C is involved in the process of collagen formation and tissue regeneration.
Indications
Local treatment of the symptoms of pharyngitis and laryngitis.
Composition
1 tablet of the preparation contains: 5 mg of chlorhexidine dihydrochloride and 50 mg of ascorbic acid, the other ingredients are: sucrose, methylcellulose, talc, magnesium stearate, quinoline yellow (E104), cochineal red (E124), candy flavor.
Action
The preparation complements the increased demand for vitamin C, and the chlorhexidine dihydride contained in it is bacteriostatic and bactericidal against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and Candida albicans yeasts.
Dosage
The recommended dose is 1 tablet 4 times a day (every 6 hours). In adolescents over 12 years of age and adult patients on the oral mucosa.
Contraindications
Allergy to the active substance or any of the ingredients of the preparation.
Storage
Sebidin should be kept out of the sight and reach of children at a temperature below 25 degrees C. Store in the original package, away from sources of light and moisture. Do not use the preparation after the last day of the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines no longer required. Such behavior will help to protect the environment.
Side effects
Long-term use of Sebidin may cause discoloration of the teeth and tongue, which either go away on its own or must be removed by a doctor. In isolated cases, gastrointestinal disorders such as nausea, vomiting, belching may occur in patients with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. In these cases, use of the preparation should be discontinued. The preparation can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Occasionally the following may occur: skin rashes, superficial exfoliation of the oral mucosa epithelium, swelling of the parotid glands, irritation or inflammation of the oral mucosa, stomach irritation and diarrhea. Use of the preparation for more than 7 days may discolor the back of the tongue, tooth surfaces and restorations made of acrylate materials, which disappear spontaneously. In case of any undesirable effects, a doctor or a pharmacist should be consulted.
Interactions
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations you are taking, have recently taken and that the patient is planning to take. Sebidim is recommended to be used after eating. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, or when it is suspected that a woman is pregnant or is planning to become pregnant, consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking the preparation. The patient should consult a physician before taking the preparation if he or she has previously been diagnosed with an intolerance to some sugars.
Warnings and Precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment or if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days. If your doctor recommends continuing treatment, consult your doctor after 14 days of using the preparation. The preparation may cause dysgeusia, which should disappear 4 hours after use. The preparation contains sucrose, therefore caution is recommended when administering it to people with diabetes and caries. It is not recommended to rinse the mouth or drink it for 2 hours after using the preparation. If you miss a dose, do not take a double dose to make up.
