    Indications

    Treatment of nervous restlessness and sleep disturbance due to nervous excitement.

    Application

    Adults and children over the age of 12: 4 capsules per day (4 times 1 capsule or 2 times 2 capsules).
    Capsules should be taken before meals with plenty of liquid. The capsules are removed from the blister pack immediately before taking to prevent moisture damage.
    It is desirable to take the preparation at the same time.
    In the treatment of sleep disorders, the preparation is recommended to be taken for the last time 0.5 hours before bedtime.
    The positive effect of treatment is achieved within 10-14 days.
    If within 4 weeks after the start of treatment there is no improvement, you should stop using the preparation and consult a doctor.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. known hypersensitivity of the skin to light, temporary states of severe depression and other disorders accompanied by depression of the central nervous system.
    Simultaneous use:
    • indinavir or other antiretroviral agents, proteinase inhibitors;
    • nevirapine or other non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors;
    • ciclosporin, digoxin, theophylline, irinotecan, tacrolimus, sirolimus, simvastatin, fexofenadine, tricyclic antidepressants (amitriptyline, nortriptyline), antiepileptics (carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin, midozolam), selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (citalopram, fluvoxamine, sertraline, sertraline). ), as well as triptans (sumatriptan, naratriptan, zolmitriptan);
    • preparations that reduce blood clotting (warfarin, phenprocoumon and other anticoagulants - coumarin derivatives).

    Side effects

    The following side effects may occur.
    From the nervous system: dizziness, headache, depression of emotional reactions, drowsiness, depression, anxiety, fatigue, decreased mental and physical performance.
    From the digestive tract: gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, abdominal pain, dry mouth).
    On the part of the skin: in persons with hypersensitivity to sunlight, exposure to the sun can cause burns; skin allergic reactions, including flushing, rash, swelling and itching of the skin; photosensitivity, in particular in fair-skinned individuals.
    General disorders: fatigue, increase / decrease in blood pressure, weakness.
    Mental disorders: anxiety, restlessness; people with bipolar depression have an increased risk of developing a manic state.

    special instructions

    The preparation contains lactose, so it should not be prescribed to patients with rare hereditary forms of galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.
    Before using the preparation Sedariston capsules, you should consult a doctor, since the symptoms for which the preparation is indicated may be the result of another (more severe) pathology.
    During the period of application of Sedariston capsules, intense ultraviolet radiation (prolonged sunbathing, mountain sun, solarium) should be avoided.
    Information for people with diabetes
    1 capsule of Sedariston capsule contains 0.01 XE, which confirms the possibility of taking the preparation in this category of patients.
    Use during pregnancy and lactation. Since there are no data on the use of Sedariston capsules during pregnancy and lactation, the preparation is not used during this period.
    Children. Do not prescribe to children under the age of 12 years. The use of the preparation in the treatment of children over the age of 12 years should be carried out only as directed and under medical supervision.
    The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles and working with other mechanisms. When using more than 4 capsules, the reaction rate decreases when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms.

    Interactions

    Interaction with the preparation sedariston capsules can lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of such preparations: anticoagulants (phenprocoumon, warfarin); cyclosporine; tacrolimus; digoxin; indinavir and other protease inhibitors used in HIV therapy; irinotecan; imatinib and other cytotoxic preparations; amitriptyline; nortriptyline; midazolam; theophylline.
    Medicines containing St. John's wort can also promote preparation metabolism if it is carried out with the participation of cytochrome P450 3A4. As a result, such preparations may have a weak and/or shorter duration of action.
    With the simultaneous administration of antidepressants (nefazodone, paroxetine, sertraline), their pharmacological action may be enhanced. In some cases, it is possible to increase undesirable (serotonin) effects, such as nausea, vomiting, fear, anxiety and dizziness.
    When used simultaneously with other preparations that increase the photosensitivity of the skin, unwanted skin reactions may occur.
    In women who simultaneously take contraceptives and Sedariston capsules, there may be cases of menstrual irregularities. A decrease in the concentration of contraceptives in the blood plasma can lead to irregular bleeding and reduce their contraceptive effect. Women should use additional contraceptives.
    Before elective surgery, potential interactions with preparations to be used for general or local anesthesia should be identified. If necessary, taking the preparation Sedariston capsules should be canceled.
    Valerian preparations can enhance the effects of alcohol, sedatives, hypnotics, analgesics, antispasmodics and anxiolytics.
    During treatment, you should refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages.
    During the period of treatment with Sedariston capsules, you should consult your doctor regarding the use of other medicines.

    Overdose

    Symptoms: possible increase in adverse reactions, overdose causes a feeling of bitterness in the mouth, discomfort in the liver, mental agitation, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, general weakness, abdominal pain, nausea, decreased hearing and vision, palpitations, signs of irritation (redness) of the skin with intense light exposure due to the action of hypericin, which leads to photosensitivity (increased sensitivity to solar radiation).
    Treatment. Immediate discontinuation of the preparation and timely emergency assistance (gastric lavage, administration of activated charcoal, if necessary - stabilization of breathing) and symptomatic treatment contribute to the rapid elimination of the clinical manifestations of an overdose. If photosensitivity occurs, avoid exposure to sunlight for 1–2 weeks.
    Hemodialysis is possible if other measures are not effective enough.
