    Product description 

    Smecta Strawberry is an antidiarrheal preparation that is used for infectious and inflammatory bowel diseases.
    • treatment of acute diarrhea in children over 2 years of age (in addition to oral rehydration) and in adults;
    • symptomatic treatment of chronic functional diarrhea in adults;
    • symptomatic treatment of pain associated with functional bowel disease in adults.

    Compound

    1 sachet of diosmectite (Smectite dioctahedral) 3 g;
    excipients: glucose monohydrate, sodium saccharin, strawberry flavor (maltodextrin, propylene glycol, gum arabic, a mixture of natural and synthetic flavors).

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to diosmectite or to any of the excipients listed in the Composition section.

    Mode of application

    Doses
    Treatment of acute diarrhea
    Children over 2 years: 4 sachets for 3 days, then 2 sachets per day for 4 days.
    Adults: 3 sachets per day for 7 days. If necessary, the dose of the preparation can be doubled at the beginning of treatment.
    Other indications
    Adults: an average of 9 g (3 sachets) per day.
    For oral use.
    The contents of the sachet must be mixed until a suspension is formed immediately before use.
    For children, the contents of the sachet can be mixed in a bottle with 50 ml of water for use at intervals throughout the day, or mixed well with semi-liquid food such as broth, compote, puree, baby food and the like.
    For adults, the contents of the sachet can be mixed with half a glass of water.

    Application features

    Diosmectite should be used with caution in patients with a history of severe chronic constipation.
    The use of the preparation Smecta Orange-Vanilla should be avoided in infants and children under 2 years of age. The standard of care for acute diarrhea is oral rehydration solution (ORS).
    From 2 years of age, acute diarrhea should be treated in conjunction with early oral rehydration solution (ORS) to prevent dehydration. Chronic use of the preparation Smecta Orange-Vanilla should be avoided.
    In adults, treatment does not preclude rehydration if necessary.
    The amount of rehydration with oral rehydration solution or intravenous rehydration depends on the intensity of diarrhea, the age of the patient, and the course of the disease.

    It is not recommended to use the preparation Smecta Orange-Vanilla during pregnancy.
    Children
    Use for the treatment of children aged 2 years.
    Drivers
    Studies of the ability to drive vehicles and work with other mechanisms under the influence of this preparation have not been conducted. However, its impact is expected to be minor or non-existent.

    Overdose

    Overdosing can lead to severe constipation or bezoar formation.

    Side effects

    From the gastrointestinal tract: constipation, vomiting.
    From the skin and subcutaneous tissue: rash, urticaria, angioedema, itching.
    From the immune system: hypersensitivity.

    Storage conditions

    Does not require special storage conditions. Keep out of the reach of children.
