Steatel solution for injection is used for primary and secondary carnitine deficiency and cardiopathy.

Active substance: levocarnitine;

1 ml 100 mg levocarnitine;

Excipients: malic acid, methylparaben (E 218), propylparaben (E 216), sodium saccharin, orange flavor, purified water.

Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.

Doses and duration of treatment are determined by the doctor individually, depending on the age and nosological form of the disease. Steatel should be taken orally 30 minutes before meals. For dosing use a dosing syringe or measuring cup. For adults, the preparation should be prescribed at an initial dose of 1 g per day (10 ml), gradually increasing the dose depending on the patient's condition and tolerance. The usual adult dose is 1-3 g (10-30 ml) per day, divided into 1-3 doses. The maximum daily dose for adults is 6 g (60 ml).

Pregnant

The use of the preparation for pregnant women is possible only when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus.

Children

The preparation is used in children from the first day of life, including premature babies.

Drivers

Does not affect.

There have been no reports of overdose toxicity of levocarnitine. Large doses can cause diarrhea.

In case of overdose, carry out symptomatic treatment.

With long-term intake of L-carnitine, various minor disorders of the gastrointestinal tract have been reported: reversible nausea and vomiting, flatulence, diarrhea. Cases of mild myasthenia gravis have been described only with the use of L-carnitine in patients with uremia.

Sensitivity to the preparation should be carefully evaluated during the first week of using the preparation and after each dose increase.

Cases of seizures have been reported in patients with and without seizure activity who received oral or intravenous levocarnitine.

The simultaneous use of glucocorticoids leads to the accumulation of levocarnitine in body tissues (except for the liver). Other anabolic agents enhance the effect of the preparation.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C in a dark place.
