    Indications

    The preparation is indicated for the short-term treatment of the symptoms of colds, chills and flu. These symptoms include mild to moderate pain, fever, nasal congestion (blocked nose) and a wet cough. Theraflu Total Grip is indicated for use in adults, elderly and adolescents 16 years of age and older only.

    Composition

    1 capsule contains the active substances: paracetamol 500 mg, phenylephrine hydrochloride 6.1 mg (corresponding to 5 mg phenylephrine base) and guaifenesin 100 mg. The other ingredients are croscarmellose sodium, maize starch, sodium lauryl sulfate, talc and magnesium stearate. The capsule shell contains: gelatin, purified water, indigotine (E132), titanium dioxide (E171), quinoline yellow (E104), sodium lauryl sulfate, erythrosine (E127).

    Action

    Analgesic, antipyretic, antihistamine, reduces congestion and swelling of the nasal mucosa.

    Dosage

    In adults, elderly people and adolescents 16 years of age and older with a body weight of 50 kg or more: take 2 capsules with water every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 6 capsules (3 doses of 2 capsules) a day (corresponding to 3000 mg paracetamol, 36.6 mg phenylephrine hydrochloride and 600 mg guaifenesin). Do not use the preparation for more than 3 days. Contact your doctor if symptoms persist for more than 3 days or if their symptoms worsen, or if your cough is accompanied by high fever, skin rash or persistent headache.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients. Heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism, angle-closure glaucoma, pheochromocytoma, patients using monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) currently or in the past two weeks, tricyclic antidepressants, beta-adrenergic blockers. Patients taking other sympathomimetic preparations such as decongestants, appetite suppressants and amphetamine-like psychostimulants.
