escription
Thioctone is taken to treat symptoms of peripheral (sensorimotor) diabetic polyneuropathy.
Compound
Active ingredient: thioctic (α-lipoic) acid;
1 bottle of solution contains 952.2876 mg trometamol thioctate (equivalent to 600 mg thioctic (α-lipoic) acid);
Excipients: trometamol, 1 M trometamol solution, water for injection.
Contraindications
Thioctone is absolutely contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to thioctic acid or other constituents of the drug.
Application methods
Doses and duration of treatment are determined by the doctor individually.
Application features
With parenteral administration of Thioctone, hypersensitivity reactions of varying severity were observed, up to anaphylactic shock. Thus, during treatment, patients should be under the supervision of a physician. If the first signs appear (such as itching, nausea, weakness), you should immediately stop and, if necessary, provide appropriate assistance.
After using Thioctone, an unusual odor of urine may be observed, this phenomenon is insignificant from a clinical point of view.
Pregnancy
The use of thioctic acid during pregnancy is not recommended due to the lack of relevant clinical data.
Children
Do not use for children.
Drivers
Thioctone has no effect or has little effect on the reaction rate when driving or operating other mechanisms.
Overdose
In case of overdose, nausea, vomiting and headache may occur.
Adverse Reactions
From the side of the blood and lymphatic system: very rarely - thrombopathy.
From the immune system: unknown - allergic reactions such as rash, hives, eczema and itching, anaphylactic reactions.
Frequency unknown insulin autoimmune syndrome.
Metabolism and eating disorders: very rarely - hypoglycemia.
From the nervous system: infrequently - dysgeusia; very rarely - apoplexy, convulsions, headache, dizziness, sweating.
From the side of the organ of vision: very rarely - diplopia, visual disturbances.
From the gastrointestinal tract: rarely - nausea and vomiting.
On the part of the skin and subcutaneous tissue: very rarely - purpura.
General disorders and local reactions: very rarely - reactions at the injection site.
After a quick injection, you may feel pressure in the head and difficulty breathing, which will go away on their own.
Interaction
With the simultaneous treatment with Thioctone and cisplatin, the effectiveness of the latter decreases.
With simultaneous treatment with Thiocton, the hypoglycemic effect of insulin and / or other antidiabetic agents may increase. In this regard, especially at the beginning of treatment with thioctic acid, regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is indicated. To prevent the onset of symptoms of hypoglycemia, in some cases, it may be necessary to reduce the dose of insulin and / or oral antidiabetic agent.
Regular alcohol consumption is a significant risk factor for the development and progression of the clinical picture of neuropathy, and can thus negatively affect the treatment with Thiocton. Therefore, patients with diabetic polyneuropathy are usually advised to refrain from alcohol consumption if possible. The limitation also applies to breaks between courses of treatment.
Storage conditions
Store in its original packaging to protect from light at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C. Do not freeze. Keep out of the reach of children.
Shelf life is 3 years.
