Active ingredients

Dexpanthenol is a provitamin B5, a derivative form and an alcoholic analogue of pantothenic acid. Dexpanthenol, which is part of the ophthalmic agent Visiloton, causes a regenerating, metabolic and weak anti-inflammatory effect of drops. Pantothenic acid acts as a vitamin after it is attached to coenzyme A, which is a cofactor for various reactions catalyzed by enzymes and accompanied by the transfer of acetyl groups. In ophthalmology, dexpanthenol is widely used in preparations of eye drops or eye ointments. When applied topically, dexpanthenol exhibits anti-inflammatory and antipruritic properties. Dexpanthenol stimulates the regeneration of the ocular mucosa, normalizes cellular metabolism, accelerates mitosis and increases the strength of collagen fibers.

Taurine, a sulfonic acid synthesized in the human body from the amino acid cysteine, plays an essential role in the process of tissue regeneration. Taurine helps to improve energy processes, stimulates reparative processes in degenerative diseases, normalizes processes, the violation of which is accompanied by a significant change in the metabolism of eye tissues.

Hypromellose has a high viscosity, protects the corneal epithelium, improves the stability of the tear film, eliminates all the main symptoms of dry and tired eyes, increases the duration of contact of dexpanthenol and taurine with the cornea. Hypromellose contributes to the restoration, stability and reproduction of the optical characteristics of the tear film.

Mode of application

It is recommended to instill an ophthalmic agent Visiloton into the conjunctival sac of each eye 1-2 drops 3-4 times a day or as needed.

When instilled before the liquid is distributed on the surface of the eye, a short-term sensation of blurred vision may occur, which disappears after blinking.

Due to the chemical composition and concentration, the duration and frequency of use of the Viziloton ophthalmic agent are not limited, the product is safe for prolonged use, does not cause addiction.

Eye instillation technique:

Wash your hands.

Stand in front of a mirror and use your index finger to gently pull back on your lower eyelid to form a place for the eye drops.

Tilt your head back and look up.

Take the bottle with your thumb and forefinger, keeping your hand against your face, and, lightly squeezing the bottle, drop the recommended amount of drops into your eyes. Do not touch the tip of the dropper to your hand, eye or any surface, as this may contaminate the solution.

Perform this procedure on the other eye.

For even distribution of drops over the surface of the eye, after instillation, it is recommended to blink 3-4 times.

Close the bottle tightly with the lid after instillation.

Special instructions

There is no risk associated with the use of the Visiloton ophthalmic agent during pregnancy and lactation, since the components of the Visiloton ophthalmic agent do not form insoluble precipitates with metal salts and organic residues that are contained in the lacrimal fluid and have an optimal pH for eye tissues. The components of the ophthalmic agent Visiloton are not pharmacologically active. It is believed that these components are not absorbed systemically, so no systemic toxicity, reproductive or fetal development is expected.

There is no objective experience of using the remedy in children.

When instilling an ophthalmic agent Viziloton before the liquid is distributed on the surface of the eye, a short-term feeling of blurred vision, a burning sensation may occur. This is normal, the sensations disappear after blinking. Until vision is restored, it is not recommended to drive vehicles or work with other mechanisms.
