    Product description

    The active substance in Zyx Bio is levocetririzine dihydrochloride. Zyx Bio is an antiallergic preparation. It is used to treat symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (including chronic allergic rhinitis) with hives.

    Indications

    Zyx Bio is used to treat symptoms related to:

    • with allergic rhinitis (including chronic allergic rhinitis),
    • with hives.

    Composition

    1 tablet contains:

    • active ingredient: levocetirizine dihydrochloride 5 mg,
    • other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171) and macrogol 400.

    Action

    Treatment of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (including chronic allergic rhinitis) with urticaria.

    Dosage

    Adults and children from 6 years of age: 1 tablet daily.

    Contraindications

    If you are allergic to levocetirizine dihydrochloride or to any chemically related active substance (piperazine derivatives, e.g. hydroxyzine, cinnarizine, flunarizine) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine

    If you have severe kidney disease (severe renal failure with a creatinine clearance less than 10 ml / min).

    Storage

    Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

    Store in the original package in order to protect from light.

    Side effects

    At the first signs of a hypersensitivity (allergy) reaction, stop taking Zyx Bio and contact your doctor or the nearest hospital immediately.

    Symptoms of hypersensitivity may include:

    • swelling of the mouth
    • tongue, face and / or throat
    • difficulty breathing and swallowing with hives (angioedema)
    • a sudden drop in blood pressure, leading to collapse or shock, which may be fatal.
    • These reactions may start soon after you first take the medicine, or it might start later.

    The following side effects have also been reported during treatment with levocetirizine:

    Common (1 to 10 in 100 people):

    • dry mouth
    • Headache,
    • fatigue,
    • drowsiness, lethargy.

    Uncommon (1 to 10 in 1,000 people):

    • feeling exhausted
    • stomach pain.

    Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):

    • hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions including anaphylaxis (severe, sudden allergic reaction)
    • palpitations, increased heart rate
    • seizure, tingling, dizziness, fainting, tremor, altered taste sensation (altered sense of taste)
    • a feeling of spinning or rocking
    • visual disturbance, blurred vision
    • painful or difficult urination, inability to completely empty the bladder,
    • swelling, itching (itching), rash, hives (swelling, redness and itching of the skin), skin eruptions
    • shortness of breath (difficulty breathing)
    • weight gain
    • abnormal liver function tests, hepatitis
    • muscle aches,
    • aggressive behavior or agitation, hallucinations, depression, insomnia,
    • recurring thoughts of suicide or an interest in suicide
    • nausea and vomiting
    • increase in appetite.

    Interactions

    Tell the doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations taken by the patient now or recently, as well as about the preparations that the patient plans to take. Some other medicines may alter the effect of Zyx Bio and vice versa.

    These preparations include:

    Preparations that depress the central nervous system (preparations that slow down the normal activity of the brain) - e.g. sedatives, sleeping pills, antidepressants, anxiolytics or certain pain relievers.

    Warnings and Precautions

    Talk to your doctor before using Zyx Bio:

    If you have kidney disease. You may need to use a lower dose. Your doctor will decide the dose of your medicine.

    If you may have difficulty emptying your bladder (for example, with a condition such as spinal cord injury or an enlarged prostate gland).

    If you have hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption as Zyx Bio contains lactose.

    The preparation may alter the results of skin allergy tests. If your doctor orders such tests, you should stop taking Zyx Bio for 3 days before the tests.
