Hydrosorb Gel maintains adequate wound moisture and thus promotes the healing process. Depending on the wound condition, Hydrosorb Gel moisturizes dry necrotic tissue, facilitates detachment of dead tissue and absorbs scabs and discharge from poorly exuding wounds.
Hydrosorb Gel is recommended for the treatment of superficial and deep wounds, such as ulcers, pressure ulcers and wounds of other origin with little exudation.
The wound should be rinsed with sterile Ringer's solution or other suitable sterile solution. Then dry the skin around the wound thoroughly. Keeping the tip of the syringe away from the wound, cover the wound with about 5 mm of gel. Apply a suitable secondary dressing to the wound.
Hydrosorb Gel is a clear, viscous, sterile gel consisting of water with an electrolytic composition based on Ringer's solution, glycerin, hydroxyethyl cellulose, cellulose and carbomer. Hydrosorb Gel does not contain polyethylene glycol.
