PAUL HARTMANN is a company with almost 200 years of tradition. It is a story of people and ideas. Its beginning dates back to 1818, when Ludwik von Hartmann opened a textile factory in the German town of Heidenheim. His heir and son, Paul Hartmann, inspired in turn by his son Arthur - a doctor, as well as encouraged by advances in bacteriology and hygiene, began attempts to produce new dressing materials. Based on the scientific work of a surgeon from Tübingen, prof. dr. Wiktor von Bruns, related to the degreasing of cotton and thus obtaining a well-absorbing hygienic material - cotton wool, Paul Hartmann started in 1870 the production of cotton wool, additionally specially impregnated. It replaced the previously used pieces of cloth, torn into strips, which did not meet the hygiene requirements. Four years later, Paul Hartmann expanded production with phenol-soaked antiseptic Lister gauze. This is how sterile dressings were born over 130 years ago, without which no medical progress would be possible. With the development of science, the company expanded its range, becoming a significant global manufacturer of medical and hygienic products. What gave meaning to Paul Hartmann's life is also important today for the PAUL HARTMANN Group, which still bears the name of its founder.

Today, PAUL HARTMANN has subsidiaries in 35 countries and employs 10,200 people worldwide. In 2015, the HARTMANN Group's sales revenues amounted to approximately EUR 1.941 billion. The headquarters of the company is still in Heidenheim.

In 1993, the company received the ISO 9001 quality management certificate. In 1994 it was confirmed that it meets all EU guidelines for the quality of medical products in accordance with DIN 46001. HARTMANN products have the CE Certificate of Safety in Use.

History PAUL HARTMANN Polska Sp. z o.o. started in 1993. Currently the company employs 200 people. On the Polish market, we offer products selected from the rich assortment of the HARTMANN group as well as products of domestic producers. We also have our own production plant, producing elastic bands.
