in Central and Eastern Europe. The company's activities cover all areas of
pharmaceutical production from research and development to the production of
active substances and finished products for sale. The head office is located in
Budapest, Hungary. EGIS is the second largest drug market in Hungary after
Richter.
The company was
founded in 1863. Today, the total staff of EGIS employees, including foreign
representations, is 4,000 people, and the company itself ranks 26th in the
rating of employers in Hungary. The company receives 76% of its turnover from
export, its products are sold in more than 60 countries of the world, in 18 of
