As part of the implementation of the development strategy, which includes the localization of production and investments, on October 1, 2015, Acino acquired the Ukrainian pharmaceutical manufacturer PHARMA START, which was founded in September 1998. The integration of PHARMA START with Acino will allow Acino to increase its product portfolio from 50 to 90 products and bring its R&D innovations to the Ukrainian market simultaneously with the markets of the CIS countries and Russia. This will ensure patient access to modern and effective Swiss quality medicines in selected markets in developing countries.

Despite the unstable political and economic situation in Ukraine, Acino  sees strong growth potential in the domestic pharmaceutical market. We are in constant dialogue with government agencies and healthcare professionals, helping the company to better meet the needs of Ukrainian patients.

Acino in Ukraine offers medicines in key therapeutic areas such as psychiatry, neurology, cardiology, therapy, endocrinology, and OTC drugs. Today, Acino`s portfolio of medical products in Ukraine consists of 63 products, including medicines, both of its own production and partners - leading pharmaceutical companies in the world.

Acino in Ukraine provides the entire cycle of creating medicines: from development, production and registration to supply, marketing and sales in accordance with international quality standards. For the production of highly effective medicines, we use our own production site in Kiev - a plant certified in accordance with GMP good manufacturing practices and a research laboratory for the development of generic drugs.

Acino in Ukraine is dynamically developing and employs more than 700 highly qualified employees throughout the country. Our preparations are exported to 6 CIS countries: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Armenia, Moldova, and Georgia.
