Product description

Allergocrom is an eye drop medicine used in acute and chronic conjunctivitis. Allergocrom is a clear, colorless to slightly yellow solution in a 10 ml plastic bottle. Its active ingredient is sodium cromoglycate. The drug can be used by adults and children over 4 years of age.

Indications

Acute and chronic allergic conjunctivitis.

Composition

1 ml of Allergocrom solution contains:

active ingredient: 20 mg of sodium cromoglycate

excipients: benzalkonium chloride, edetate disodium, glucose monohydrate, water for injections.

Action

Antiallergic.

Dosage

Children after 4 years of age and adults: usually it is recommended to instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 4 times a day.

The drug should not be discontinued after the symptoms have subsided, and should be continued until the contact with the allergen, e.g. pollen, dust, ceases.

It is possible to use hard contact lenses with the consent of the doctor, but they should be removed before instillation and reinserted on the eyes after 15 minutes.

Contraindications

Do not use if you are allergic to sodium cromoglycate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Storage

Allergocrom should be kept out of the sight and reach of children at a temperature below 25 ° C in the original package.

After first opening the bottle, the drug can be used for 6 weeks.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

In rare cases, temporary eye burning, redness, a foreign body sensation in the eye, and conjunctival swelling may occur. These symptoms usually resolve on their own.

Some people may experience other side effects during use.

Warnings and Precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Allergocrom.

Allergocrom contains benzalkonium chloride. The use of soft contact lenses is contraindicated due to the presence of benzalkonium chloride.

Your ophthalmologist should check whether hard contact lenses can be used despite allergic eye inflammation.

Children and youth

The safety of the drug in children under 4 years of age has not been established.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.

Driving vehicles and operating machinery

After using the preparation, temporary visual disturbances may occur for a few minutes, which may extend the reaction time of people driving vehicles and operating machines.
