BioGaia ProTectis - clinically proven to help restore beneficial microflora. The efficacy and safety of L. reuteri Protectis® for humans have been confirmed in clinical studies conducted in Europe, America, Japan, Ukraine with the participation of people of different ages.
L. reuteri Protectis® is a strain that meets the current requirements of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and WHO (2002) to probiotics.
L.reuteri Protectis® are naturally occurring microorganisms that were first isolated from breast milk and are normally present in the human body throughout the gastrointestinal tract.
L.reuteri Protectis® colonize the epithelium and multiply in all parts of the gastrointestinal tract, starting with the oral cavity. L. reuteri is resistant to the action of gastric juice, bile salts and enzymes of the upper small intestine.
L.reuteri Protectis® maintain and regulate the physiological balance of the intestinal microflora and are actively involved in digestion processes.
L.reuteri Protectis® synthesize lactic, acetic acids and specific substances for this type of lactobacilli - reuterin and reuterocycline, which suppress the growth of pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms in the digestive tract. Strengthening the natural defense of the digestive system against pathogenic microorganisms, they create favorable conditions for the formation of normal intestinal microbiocenosis.
L. reuteri Protectis® have antagonistic activity against H. pylori, and also reduce the side effects of antibiotic therapy in gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer.
The immunostimulating effect of L. reuteri Protectis® is associated with the ability to activate the intestinal immune system as the body's first line of defense against infections by increasing the number of CD4 + cells (a specific subgroup of T-lymphocytes).

BioGaia ProTectis contributes to:

• restoration of the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract;
• improving intestinal motility;
• protection of the body from infections (with reduced immunity);

Recommendations for use

Use as a dietary supplement for children from 3 years of age and adults as an additional source of viable lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 (Lactobacillus reuteri Protectis®).
