Product description

Cetirizine-Teva will provide symptomatic treatment for seasonal and persistent allergic rhinitis, as well as non-nasal symptoms associated with conjunctivitis.

Structure

Active ingredient: cetirizine.

One tablet contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride.

Excipients: lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, opadry Y-1-7000.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to cetirizine or other components of the drug, as well as to hydroxyzine and to any piperazine derivatives in history.

Patients with severe renal impairment with CC less than 10 ml / min.

Mode of application

Take orally with 1 glass of liquid.

Food intake does not affect the absorption of cetirizine, although it somewhat slows down this process.

Adults and children over 6 years of age: 10 mg 1 tablet once a day.

An initial dose of 5 mg can be used if sufficient to control symptoms.

The course of treatment is determined by the doctor, depending on the course and duration of the disease and the individual sensitivity of the patient.

There is no need to reduce the dose for elderly patients in the absence of renal impairment.

Cetirizine passes into breast milk at concentrations of 25-90% of the concentration in blood plasma, depending on the period of time after drug administration.

Therefore, women who are breastfeeding should use cetirizine with caution.

Drivers

Patients who drive vehicles, are involved in potentially hazardous work or service mechanized equipment should not exceed the recommended doses and should take into account the reaction of their own body to the drug.

In sensitive patients, concomitant use of the drug with alcohol or other drugs that depress the central nervous system may cause additional impairment of attention when performing potentially hazardous work.

For children

The drug should be used in children over 6 years of age.

Overdose

Symptoms observed after an overdose of cetirizine, mainly associated with the effect on the central nervous system or with effects that may indicate an anticholinergic effect.

Side effects reported after dosing were at least 5 times the recommended daily dose include: confusion, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, malaise, mydriasis, pruritus, anxiety, sedation, drowsiness, stupor, tachycardia, tremor, urinary retention.

Side effects

From the side of the blood and lymphatic system, thrombocytopenia is very rare.

From the side of the immune system, rarely hypersensitivity, anaphylactic shock.

On the part of metabolism and nutrition, increased appetite.

From the side of the psyche: rarely agitation, rarely aggressiveness, confusion, depression, hallucinations, insomnia, very rarely a nervous tic, suicidal thoughts.

From the nervous system: infrequently paresthesia, rarely convulsions, very rarely dysgeusia, fainting, tremor, dystonia, dyskinesia, amnesia, memory impairment.

From the side of the organs of vision: violation of the accommodation of the eye, blurred vision, involuntary movements of the eyeball.

On the part of the hearing organs vertigo.

From the side of the heart, tachycardia is rare.

From the gastrointestinal tract, diarrhea is infrequent.

From the side of the digestive system, liver dysfunction is rare.

Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: itching, rash, urticaria, angioedema, persistent drug erythema, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis.

From the urinary system: very rarely, dysuria, enuresis, urinary retention.
