Coledan D3 1000 IU is a dietary supplement that is used in the diet as an additional source of vitamin D in case of deficiency.

Active ingredients

Vitamin D is essential for the normal development of the child's body, as it contributes to the normal absorption / assimilation of calcium and phosphorus and the maintenance of normal blood calcium levels. With an insufficient level of vitamin D in the body, only 10-15% of the calcium supplied with food is absorbed. In addition to its effect on mineral metabolism, vitamin D affects metabolism (synthesis of lipids, proteins, enzymes, hormones), regulates the functions of organs and systems (cardiovascular system, liver, kidneys, pancreas, gastrointestinal tract).

Vitamin D is also involved in the functioning of the immune system, its deficiency leads to an increase in the likelihood of influenza and SARS. Part of the required dose of vitamin D is produced naturally in the skin by exposure to sunlight and, in small amounts, is absorbed into the body through the diet. However, this replenishment is insufficient, given the limited exposure to sunlight (synthesis occurs only on clear summer days from June to August) and the small amount of vitamin D in food. Deficiency of vitamin D during the period of rapid growth of a child leads to rickets, in adults - to osteomalacia, in pregnant women - until symptoms of tetany appear and impaired formation or formation of tooth enamel in newborns.
