Oral drops "Cuplaton " are used for the following indications:

• symptomatic treatment for complaints from the gastrointestinal tract associated with gas formation, for example, with flatulence, with colic in newborns;
• as an aid for diagnostic examinations of the abdominal organs (X-ray, ultrasound, gastroduodenoscopy);
• increased gas production after surgery;
• as an antifoam agent in case of intoxication with detergents.

Compound

The active ingredient is dimethicone (1 ml (1 ml = 35 drops) contains 300 mg of dimethicone).

Excipients: colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, sorbic acid, sodium saccharin, purified water, glycerol monostearate, polyoxyethylene 100 stearate.

Contraindications

hypersensitivity to dimethicone or to any of the excipients of the preparation;

intestinal obstruction, obstructive diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Mode of application

Shake well before use.

Symptomatic treatment:

• adults and children from 10 years old - 5 drops 4 times a day with flatulence, mixing with a small amount of liquid;
• children from 6 to 10 years old - 4 drops 4 times a day, mixing with a small amount of liquid;
• infants and children under 6 years of age - one to three drops 4 times a day, mixing with a small amount of liquid in a bottle with baby food or with a meal;
• babies - for colic treatment, 4 drops are mixed with a small amount of liquid before each feeding.

To prepare for X-ray or ultrasound examination: for adults - 12 drops after meals 3 times a day before the examination and 12 drops in the morning of the examination day.

To prepare for gastroduodenoscopy: for adults and children from 10 years old - within 2-3 days before the examination, 12 drops 4 times a day.

With increased gas production in the postoperative period: adults - 12 drops every 4-6 hours, if necessary, the dose should be increased.

Poisoning with detergents: the dosage depends on the severity of the intoxication. The minimum recommended dose of Cuplaton is 1 ml.

The duration of treatment depends on the presence of complaints and is determined by the doctor individually. If necessary, the preparation can be taken for a long time.

Controlled studies on this subject in animals and with the participation of humans have not been conducted. Dimethicone is not absorbed from the digestive tract, does not penetrate the placental barrier and into breast milk.

Children

The preparation is used in pediatric practice.

Drivers

Dimethicone does not affect the reaction rate when driving or using other mechanisms.

Overdose

No cases of overdose have been reported.

Side effects

Since the active substance, dimethicone, is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is excreted unchanged, side effects are unlikely. However, with the use of the preparation, rare (≥ 1/10000 to <1/1000) adverse reactions were observed, such as nausea, stomach pain, bloating, sleep disturbances, weakness, rash. Allergic reactions may occur, including itching, flushing, urticaria.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, protected from light and out of reach of children.

Shelf life is 2 years.
