Product description

Gel "Duak" is used for local treatment of acne (acne vulgaris) of mild to moderate severity, mainly inflammatory elements, in adults and children over 12 years of age.

Compound

1 g of gel contains (active ingredients):

anhydrous benzoyl peroxide (in the form of water benzoyl peroxide) - 50 mg;

clindamycin (as clindamycin phosphate) - 10 mg.

Excipients: carbomer, dimethicone, sodium lauryl sulfosuccinate, disodium edetate, glycerin, colloidal silicon dioxide, poloxamer, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation and lincomycin;
• local enteritis, ulcerative colitis, or antibiotic-associated colitis (including pseudomembranous colitis) or their history;
• age up to 12 years.

Mode of application

For external use only. Adults and children over 12 years old.

The gel is applied once a day in the evening to the affected areas after thorough cleaning, rinsing the skin with water and drying. If the gel does not rub easily into the skin, it is an excessive amount.

After applying the gel, you should wash your hands. The patient can apply a moisturizer as needed.

In case of excessive dryness or peeling of the skin, you should reduce the frequency of use or temporarily stop treatment. When used with a frequency of less than 1 time per day, the effectiveness of treatment has not been proven. Apply the gel no more than once a day.

Patients should be warned that increasing the amount of gel applied does not increase the effectiveness of the preparation, but increases the risk of skin irritation.

For the appearance of a therapeutic effect, it may take from 2 to 5 weeks of treatment. The maximum course of treatment is 12 weeks.

Overdose

Excessive topical application of clindamycin / benzoyl peroxide can cause severe skin irritation. In this case, you should stop treatment and wait for the healing of irritations.

When benzoyl is applied topically, peroxide is not absorbed at all in an amount sufficient to cause a systemic effect.

In the case of accidental oral administration, side reactions from the gastrointestinal tract, similar to those observed with systemic use of clindamycin, may occur.

To reduce the symptoms of irritation in the case of excessive topical application, appropriate symptomatic measures should be taken. In case of accidental ingestion, appropriate clinical care should be provided.

Side effects

On the part of the skin and subcutaneous tissue: very often (≥ 1/10) - erythema, desquamation, dryness (mainly reported as phenomena of moderate intensity); often (≥ 1/100 and <1/10) - burning sensation.

Storage conditions

Store in a refrigerator (2-8 ° C), out of reach of children. Do not freeze. After opening the tube, keep out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.

Shelf life - 1.5 years (after opening the tube - 2 months).
