Product description

The electrolytes recommended by Stoperan are medical foods for the dietary management of diarrhea which may be accompanied by dehydration. The preparation can be used in children from 3 years of age and adults, including pregnant and lactating women and the elderly. It has the form of a powder to dissolve in water and has a pleasant strawberry flavor. The composition of the product complies with the WHO (World Health Organization) recommendation for use in diarrhea. After reconstitution, the ready-to-drink liquid has a reduced osmolarity of 245 mOsm / L.

The use of the preparation during diarrhea not only replenishes electrolyte losses and prevents dehydration, but also can reduce the intensity of the ailment itself. Increases the amount of water that passes into the tissues. It contains carefully selected proportions of mineral salts and glucose. After dissolving in water, minerals break down into ions with a positive or negative electric charge and penetrate through the intestinal cells into the adjacent tissues, where they use electric charges to "attract" water and "suck" it from the intestine to the tissues. What's more, thanks to the glucose present in the composition, electrolytes are more easily captured and more efficiently transported to the tissues.

Application

For adults and children over 3 years of age for the dietary management of diarrhea which may be associated with dehydration.

Recommended intake

Watering in the first 3-4 hours:

children up to 15 kg: 5 sachets (1000 ml of prepared liquid),

children over 15 kg and adults: 7 sachets (1400 ml of prepared liquid).

Maintenance irrigation:

give 100 ml of fluid after each bowel movement (or vomiting).

Usage method

Electrolytes should be administered from the first onset of diarrhea (as well as vomiting). The content of 1 sachet should be dissolved in 200 ml of water and administered in small portions, and in the event of vomiting - even with a teaspoon. The prepared liquid should not be additionally sweetened. During the first 3-4 hours of irrigation, administer up to 1000 ml of fluid (for children up to 15 kg body weight) or 1400 ml of fluid (for children over 15 kg and adults). After this time, maintenance irrigation can be continued: 100 ml of fluid after each bowel movement (or vomiting). In case of problems with swallowing, the liquid should be administered frequently and in small portions (e.g. with a dropper or a spoon). Before serving, it is advisable to cool the liquid in the refrigerator, as it is better tolerated in this form.

glucose 2.70 g, sodium citrate 0.58 g, sodium chloride 0.52 g, potassium chloride 0.3 g, strawberry flavor, acidity regulator: citric acid, sweeteners: acesulfame K, aspartame.

Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the preparation.

Important tips

Contains sugar and sweeteners.

The product contains sodium and potassium - use caution in people treated with spironolactone or ACE inhibitors due to hypertension.
