Product description

Esceven is a preparation in the form of a gel that is traditionally used to relieve the symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency, including pain, heaviness in the legs, night cramps of the calf muscles, itching and swelling. The active substances of the preparation are horse chestnut seed extract and heparin. The effectiveness of the preparation in the mentioned indications is based only on long-term use and experience.

Indications

Chronic venous insufficiency manifested by pain, heaviness in the legs, night cramps of the calf muscles, itching and swelling.

Composition

1 g of gel contains:

• active substances: thick extract of horse chestnut seeds (Hippocastani seminis extractum spissum, DER 6-9: 1); extractant: menthanil 99% (v / v /) 83.5 mg; sodium heparin (Heparinum natricum) 0.42 mg (50 IU),
• excipients: carbomer, purified water, sodium hydroxide, bronopol ethyl parahydroxybenzoate.

Action

Anti-swelling, soothing.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: rub 1 g of gel (a strip about 3-4 cm long) into the skin of the limbs 3 times a day.

The preparation should be used for a period of 2 weeks. If the symptoms worsen or do not improve after 2 weeks, a doctor should be consulted who may recommend continuing the treatment.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the product.

Do not use:

• on open wounds, mucous membranes and around the eyes,
• in the states of chronic kidney diseases.

Due to the lack of safety data, the preparation is not recommended for use in children.

Storage

The preparation should be stored below 25 ° C, out of the sight and reach of children.

Side effects

Esceven, like any other preparation, can cause side effects, but not everyone may experience them.

A temporary feeling of warmth and a slight itching of the skin have been observed after the use of the preparation.

Interactions

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations you are taking, have recently used or are taking them.

So far, no interactions with other preparations have been observed.

Warnings and Precautions

Particular caution should be exercised when administering the preparation to patients with hemorrhagic diathesis.

In case of contact with the mucous membranes or the preparation gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.

In case of symptoms of irritation such as redness, swelling, tearing, see a doctor.

Due to the lack of data confirming the safety, the use of the preparation is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

The preparation does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.

The preparation contains:

• bronopol, which can cause local skin irritation (contact inflammation).
• ethyl parahydroxybenzoate, which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
