Indication:

Symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal disorders associated with excessive gas accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract, e.g. flatulence. In the case of increased gas formation in the postoperative period. In preparing patients for abdominal radiographic and ultrasound examinations and gastroscopy.

Features:

The active substance in Espumisan is simethicone - a stable surface-active polydimethylsiloxane. It reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles contained in food masses and in gastrointestinal mucus, causing them to burst. Thanks to this, the gases released in this way can be absorbed through the intestinal wall or removed from the gastrointestinal tract as a result of intestinal peristaltic movements. Simethicone only has a surface effect and does not undergo any chemical reactions. Is a pharmacologically and physiologically inert substance. Simethicone is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after oral administration and is excreted unchanged.

Usage:

Adults and adolescents: the recommended dose is 2 capsules of Espumisan, equivalent to 80mg simethicone, 3 to 4 times a day.
Children aged 6 to 14 years: the recommended dose is 2 capsules of Espumisan, equivalent to 80 mg simethicone, 3 to 4 times a day.
Preparation of patients for radiological and abdominal ultrasound examinations and gastroscopy: the recommended dose is 2 capsules, equivalent to 80mg of simethicone, 3 times a day on the day preceding the examination and 2 capsules in the morning, on an empty stomach, on the day of the examination.

Composition:

Active substances: 40mg simethicone. Excipients: methyl parahydroxybenzoate, gelatin, 85% glycerol, sunset yellow (E110), quinoline yellow (E104).
