Product description

Eurofast capsules are indicated for the symptomatic treatment of headache, toothache and menstrual pain, fever, neuralgia, back pain, joint pain, muscle pain, and rheumatic pain.

Structure

Active substance: ibuprofen;

1 capsule contains ibuprofen 200 mg or 400 mg;

Excipients (200 mg): polyethylene glycol, sorbitol solution (70%), sorbitan oleate (sorbitan 80), potassium hydroxide, purified water;

Capsule shell: gelatin, polyethylene glycol 400, sorbitol solution 70% (E 420), FD&C Green No. 3, purified water, medium chain triglycerides (Miglyol 812);

Excipients (400 mg): polyethylene glycol 400, povidone PVP K-30, sorbitan oleate, potassium hydroxide, purified water;

Capsule shell: gelatin, polyethylene glycol 400, sorbitol solution 70% (E 420), purified water, medium chain triglycerides.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen or to any of the components of the preparation.

A history of bronchospasm, asthma, rhinitis, or skin rashes associated with the use of acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory preparations.

A history of gastrointestinal bleeding and perforation after the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory preparations (NSAIDs).

Peptic ulcer / bleeding at present or in history (two or more distinct episodes of exacerbation of peptic ulcer or bleeding).

Severe renal, heart, or hepatic impairment.

The last trimester of pregnancy.

The use of the preparation simultaneously with other NSAIDs is contraindicated.

Mode of application

The preparation is recommended for adults and children over 12 years of age, the initial dose is 1-2 capsules, then, if necessary, 1-2 capsules every 4-6 hours. Do not use more than 1200 mg (6 or 3 capsules, respectively) in a 24 hour period.

Capsules, as a rule, are taken with meals, without chewing, with water.

Elderly patients do not require a special dose selection.

If the symptoms of the disease persist for more than 3 days, it is necessary to consult a doctor to clarify the diagnosis and correct the treatment regimen.

Provided that it is used according to the recommended doses and duration of treatment, the preparation does not affect the reaction rate when driving or operating other mechanisms.

Overdose

Symptoms Most patients who received clinically significant amounts of the preparation developed only nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, and very rarely diarrhea. Tinnitus, headache, and gastrointestinal bleeding may also occur. In more severe poisoning, toxic damage to the central nervous system is possible, which manifests itself as vertigo, drowsiness, sometimes - an agitated state and disorientation or coma. Sometimes patients have seizures

Treatment. Treatment should be symptomatic and supportive, and include ensuring airway patency and monitoring heart and vital signs until the condition returns to normal. Oral administration of activated charcoal or gastric lavage is recommended within 1 hour after the application of a potentially toxic dose of the preparation.

Side effects

The most common adverse reactions are gastrointestinal in nature and are mainly dose dependent, including the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, which depends on the dose and duration of treatment. Adverse reactions are less common if the maximum daily dose does not exceed 1200 mg.

Interaction

The simultaneous use of ibuprofen with acetylsalicylic acid should be avoided, unless a lower dose of acetylsalicylic acid (no more than 75 mg per day) was prescribed by a doctor, and with other NSAIDs, including selective COX-2 inhibitors (COX-2), as this may increase the risk of occurrence side effects.
