Indications

In acute and chronic respiratory diseases with difficult expectoration of thick bronchial secretions.

Composition

1 ml of syrup contains 0.8 mg of bromhexine hydrochloride and auxiliary substances: liquid sorbitol, non-crystallising (E 420), propylene glycol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), sodium sucrose (E 954), cherry flavor (including benzyl alcohol, propylene glycol), purified water.

Action

It cleans the bronchial tree of thick mucus secretions that accompany many diseases of the respiratory tract. Bromhexine increases the amount of bronchial secretion and reduces its viscosity.

Dosage

- adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 5 ml of syrup (1 measuring spoon) 3 times a day.

-children from 6 to 12 years: 2.5 ml of syrup (1/2 measuring spoon) 3 times a day.

-the preparation is not intended for use in children under 6 years of age.

Take the preparation only when you have symptoms. Do not use more than 5 days in adults and more than 3 days in children from 6 years of age without consulting a doctor.

Contraindications

Do not take if you are allergic to bromhexine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, gastric or duodenal ulcer disease, because the preparation may irritate the gastric or duodenal mucosa and aggravate the symptoms of the disease, in children under 2 years of age, do not use the preparation simultaneously with antitussive preparations and preparations that reduce the amount of bronchial secretions, if the patient suffers from bronchial asthma, if the patient has impaired liver function or renal failure, because in these patients the elimination of bromhexine and its metabolites is reduced, caution should be used with atropine and other cholinolytic preparations, because they cause dry mucous membranes, salicylates and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory preparations, the simultaneous use of bromhexine with antibiotics such as: oskytetracycline, erythromycin, ampicillin, doxycillin, amoxicillin, increases their concentration in the pulmonary parenchyma, to be careful it is recommended to avoid the use of the preparation during pregnancy, it is not recommended to use the preparation during breastfeeding, because it passes into breast milk, caution should be exercised as headaches, dizziness or drowsiness may occur.
