Product description
Galvenox Veno reduces the permeability of the capillary walls and their fragility due to the active substance, which is calcium dobesylate monohydrate. In addition, the preparation Galvenox Veno accelerates the synthesis of collagen, which is an important structural component of the artery wall. The preparation also has an anti-aggregating effect, improves peripheral venous circulation. Galvenox Veno also reduces the permeability and fragility of lymphatic vessels and improves lymphatic drainage, reducing swelling.
Indications
Galvenox Veno is used in case of symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency of the lower limbs: varicose veins, swelling, pain, numbness, tingling, cramps and a feeling of heaviness in the legs, skin changes due to blood stagnation and haemorrhoids.
Composition
1 capsule contains:
Active substance: calcium dobesylate monohydrate.
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide (E171), azorubine (E122), quinoline yellow (E104), gelatin.
Action
It reduces the excessive permeability and brittleness of the capillary walls and increases their strength.
It prevents the seepage of liquids through the walls of the vessels.
Accelerates collagen synthesis.
It reduces blood viscosity.
Increases the elasticity of red blood cells.
It has an anti-aggregating effect.
It reduces the permeability and fragility of lymphatic vessels and improves lymphatic drainage.
Dosage
Adults: 1 to 2 capsules a day (corresponding to a daily dose of 500 mg to 1000 mg of calcium dobesylate monohydrate).
Use the preparation orally during main meals.
The treatment period is usually from several weeks to several months.
Contraindications
Allergy to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.
Do not use in children.
Do not use in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Storage
The preparation should be stored out of the sight and reach of children at a temperature below 30 ° C degrees Celsius.
Store in the original package in order to protect from moisture.
Side effects
This medicine, like any other medicine, can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Rare (less than 1 in 1,000 but more than 1 in 10,000 people):
- epigastric pain,
- nausea,
- diarrhea
- vomiting,
- skin reactions
- arthralgia,
- headaches and dizziness,
- fever.
Very rare (less than 1 in 10,000 people):
Bone marrow depression with agranulocytosis (an acute condition which may include high fever, infections in the mouth or inflammation of the anus and genitals). In such cases, discontinue use of the preparation and contact your doctor.
Local allergic reactions (rashes) and systemic reactions (urticaria) have been reported. Most adverse reactions disappear when you stop taking Galvenox Veno or reduce the dose.
Interactions
Tell the doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations that the patient is taking now or recently, and about the preparations that the patient is planning to take.
There are no data on preparation interactions with other preparations or any other kind of interactions.
Warnings and Precautions
Use with caution if there is an active gastric and / or duodenal ulcer disease or chronic gastritis.
Reduced doses should be used in people with severe renal insufficiency, especially in those on dialysis.
Gastric and duodenal function should be monitored periodically. In the event of an exacerbation of symptoms, the preparation should be discontinued and consult a doctor.
Stop using the preparation immediately and contact your doctor if you experience symptoms such as fever, sore throat or larynx, pain upon swallowing, rhinitis, stomatitis, genital and proctitis, as these may be symptoms of severe disease: agranulocytosis.
Consult your doctor, even if the above warnings apply to situations in the past.
Galvenox Veno should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the possible risk to the fetus.
The preparation passes into breast milk in small amounts.
The preparation contains azorubine (E 122) and may cause allergic reactions.
