Product description

Montelukast Chewable Tablets 5 mg are recommended for children from 2 to 5 years old:

as an additional treatment of bronchial asthma in patients with persistent mild and moderate asthma, which is insufficiently controlled by inhaled GCS, as well as in case of insufficient clinical control of asthma with short-acting β-agonists, used if necessary;
as an alternative method of treatment instead of low doses of inhaled corticosteroids for patients with persistent mild asthma who have not recently had severe asthma attacks requiring oral corticosteroids, as well as for those patients who have been found to be intolerant to inhaled corticosteroids;
as the prevention of asthma, the dominant component of which is exercise-induced bronchospasm;
to relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis.

Compound

Active substance: montelukast;

1 tablet contains montelukast sodium equivalent to montelukast 4 mg;

Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, beckons (E 421), croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium stearate, aspartame (E 951), cherry flavor.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.

Mode of application

The preparation should be used in children under adult supervision.

Children aged 2 to 5 years. For patients with asthma and allergic rhinitis (seasonal and year-round), the recommended dose is 1 4 mg chewable tablet once a day.

Children between the ages of 6 and 14. For patients with asthma and allergic rhinitis (seasonal and year-round), the recommended dose is 1 chewable tablet 5 mg once a day.

For asthma, the chewable tablet should be taken in the evening 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. To relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, the time of admission should be selected individually.

Montelukast can be used during pregnancy only if it is considered absolutely necessary.

Do not use in children under 2 years of age.

Overdose

There is no information on the treatment of an overdose with montelukast. In chronic asthma studies, montelukast was prescribed at doses up to 200 mg / day to adults for 22 weeks, and in short-term studies up to 900 mg / day for about one week, with no clinically significant adverse reactions.

Treatment is symptomatic.

Interaction

Montelukast can be used with other preparations for the prevention or long-term treatment of asthma. When studying preparation interactions, the recommended clinical dose of montelukast did not have a significant clinical effect on the pharmacokinetics of the following preparations: theophylline, prednisone, prednisolone, oral contraceptives (ethinylestradiol / norethindrone 35/1), terfenadine, digoxin and warfarin.

Storage conditions

Store in a dry, dark place at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.
