Levenium is an antiepileptic preparation.

Indications for use

• partial seizures;
• myoclonic seizures in adults and children over 12 years old, patients with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy.

Compound

levetiracetam - 500 mg;

additional substances - corn starch, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, magnesium stearate, Opadry Blue coating 03B50622: hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogol 400, diamond blue FCF aluminum varnish (E 133)

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to levetiracetam or other pyrrolidone derivatives, as well as to any components of the preparation.

Mode of application

The tablets are taken orally with a sufficient amount of liquid, regardless of the meal. Divide the daily dose into 2 equal doses.

Monotherapy.

Adults and children over 16 years old.

Monotherapy for adults and children over 16 years old should be started with a recommended dose of 500 mg / day (250 mg 2 times a day), followed by an increase in the dose to 1000 mg / day (up to 500 mg 2 times a day) after 2 weeks. It is possible to increase the dose by 500 mg / day (250 mg 2 times a day) every 2 weeks, depending on the clinical effect. The maximum daily dose is 3000 mg / day (1500 mg 2 times a day).

Children

The preparation in the form of tablets is not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age. Levetiracetam in the form of an oral solution is used for children aged 1 month and up to 6 years old.
