Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamic parameters. As part of the combined preparation linex® - three different types of lactic acid bacteria present in different intestinal parts and representing the natural intestinal microflora. these lyophilized microorganisms maintain their viability in the digestive tract, assisting and correcting the physiological balance of the intestinal microbiota.

The creation of low pH values ​​in the intestinal lumen due to the process of lactose metabolism by lactic acid bacteria determines the optimal efficiency of digestive enzymes and limits the growth and reproduction of pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms. Lactic acid bacteria support this effect by producing bacteriocins - substances with antimicrobial action, as well as by activating the humoral link of the immune system and local defense mechanisms, preventing the adhesion of pathogenic microbes to the intestinal wall. In addition, lactic acid bacteria are necessary in the metabolism of bile pigments and acids in the body, they are sources of vitamins K and group B.

Disruption of the physiological balance of the intestinal microflora occurs as a result of antibiotic and chemotherapy, radiation therapy, changes in geographical and climatic conditions, exposure to pathogens of a viral or bacterial nature.

Lacto- and bifidobacteria are the first to colonize the gastrointestinal tract. For a number of reasons, the layout of the normal composition of the intestinal microbiota in newborns may be delayed, causing the occurrence of increased gas production in the intestine, dyspeptic disorders, and defecation disorders. The use of lactic acid bacteria in the composition of Linex® capsules for prophylactic or therapeutic purposes ensures the preservation of intestinal homeostasis, providing regulation and support of the natural balance of the intestinal microbiota.

Pharmacokinetic parameters. After per os administration, lactic acid bacteria exhibit a local effect in the gastrointestinal tract. The study of pharmacokinetic parameters was not carried out, since absorption into the systemic circulation does not occur.

The results of preclinical studies indicate the safety of the preparation, the absence of toxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic and teratogenic properties.

Indications

Complex therapy of intestinal dysbiosis; prevention and treatment of diarrhea of ​​viral or bacterial etiology (including "traveler's diarrhea"), as well as diarrhea associated with the use of chemotherapy preparations.

Application

During meals. single dose: children under the age of 2 years - 1 capsule; children aged 2-12 years - 1-2 capsules; children over the age of 12 and adults - 2 capsules. frequency of admission: 3 times a day.

Do not combine with hot or alcoholic drinks.

If it is impossible for a child to swallow a whole capsule, its contents are poured into a liquid (volume - 1 teaspoon), which must be taken immediately.

Duration of use - until the patient's condition improves (determined by the etiological factor of the disease and the individual characteristics of the organism).

An adequate correction of the water-electrolyte balance is also required.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the constituents of the preparation.

Side effects

Very rarely, hypersensitivity reactions, itching, rashes are observed.

Special instructions

In the case of fever above 38 ° C, the duration of diarrhea for more than 2 days, severe diarrhea with exsicosis and a decrease in body weight, the appearance of mucus or occult blood in the stool, abdominal pain; if the patient has a chronic pathology, such as cardiovascular diseases or diabetes mellitus, immunodeficiency states, you should consult a doctor for advice before using the preparation.

Therapy with Linex® in children under the age of 6 years should be carried out exclusively under medical supervision.

Linex® should not be taken by patients with a syndrome of impaired absorption of glucose and galactose in the gastrointestinal tract, galactosemia or lactase deficiency (1 capsule of the preparation contains 98.28 mg of lactose).

Due to the lack of information on the safety of use in pregnant and lactating women, the use of the preparation in this category of patients is not recommended.

There is no information on the effect on the reaction rate when driving or operating other mechanisms.

The development of allergic reactions is possible due to the content of an insignificant amount of cow's milk proteins in the preparation.

Interactions

Combined use with antimicrobial preparations is possible. The desired period of time between the oral administration of these preparations and the subsequent administration of Linex® capsules should be 3 hours.
