Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. The active ingredient of Livolin Forte is lecithin 35%, containing phospholipids, which are a highly purified fraction of phosphatidylcholine. the defining component of this fraction is dilinoleoylphosphatidylcholine. These phospholipids in their chemical structure are similar to endogenous membrane phospholipids, which surpass them in functional properties due to the high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially linoleic acid. phospholipids are the main structural elements of cell membranes and cell organelles. they take part in the differentiation, division and regeneration of cells.

The functional significance of phospholipids is based on their amphiphilic properties, which make it possible to regulate the permeability of the cell membrane. Phospholipids improve the function of membranes, in particular, ion exchange, intracellular respiration, biological oxidation, affect the binding of enzymes of internal respiration in mitochondria, as well as oxidative phosphorylation in the energy metabolism of cells. Under physiological conditions, the synthesis of phospholipids covers the normal needs of hepatocytes, which contain a sufficient amount of phospholipids. It is known that the structures of cell membranes and enzyme systems undergo pathological changes in liver diseases. The biosynthesis of phospholipids is impaired, and their deficiency leads to dysfunction of the cell membrane. These processes are especially pronounced in mitochondria, which are approximately 30% phospholipids. Important metabolic processes take place in mitochondria, among which the most important is oxidative phosphorylation. Due to the lack of phospholipids, fat metabolism is disturbed, which leads to fatty degeneration of the liver. Due to its pharmacological properties, the preparation normalizes these disorders, promotes the regeneration of subcellular and plasma membranes, reactivates disturbed membrane-bound enzyme systems and receptors, increases the detoxifying ability of the liver and thus normalizes its function.

Pharmacokinetics. When taken orally, 90% of the preparation is absorbed in the small intestine. The main amount is cleaved under the influence of phospholipase-A to 1-acyl-lyso-phosphatidylcholine, 50% of which is immediately reactivated into polyunsaturated phosphatidylcholine even during absorption in the small intestine. Polyunsaturated phosphatidylcholine enters the bloodstream through the lymphatic pathways and then, mainly in combination with HDL, is transported to the liver. The maximum concentration of phosphatidylcholine in blood plasma 6-24 hours after administration is on average 20% of the dose taken orally. The half-life for the choline component is 66 hours, for saturated fatty acids - 32 hours.

In human kinetic studies, 5% of each of the administered isotopes H3 and C14 was excreted in the feces.

Indications

Fatty liver degeneration (including liver damage in diabetes mellitus), acute and chronic hepatitis, pre- and postoperative treatment for surgical interventions on the liver and biliary tract, toxic liver damage; preeclampsia of pregnant women, radiation syndrome.

Application

In adults and adolescents, the dose of the preparation is 1 capsule 3 times a day with meals, without chewing, with a little water. recommend the use of the preparation for a course of at least 3 months.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation, intrahepatic cholestasis, children under 12 years of age.

Side effects

In isolated cases, unpleasant sensations in the epigastric region are possible.

Special instructions

The preparation can be used during pregnancy if indicated. there are no data on use during lactation.
