Product description

Mag B6 is a preparation containing magnesium lactate and vitamin B6. The magnesium contained in the preparation is in the form of a salt easily absorbed by the body. Magnesium interacts with calcium ions to form bone structure. Symptoms of magnesium deficiency are: hyperactivity, difficulty concentrating attention and falling asleep, increased susceptibility to stress and muscle disorders. Magnesium deficiency increases the risk of coronary heart disease, heart attack and arrhythmias. In humans, B6 aminase manifests itself with nausea, vomiting, inflammatory stress and damage to the skin and mucous membranes, mental disorders, convulsions, polyneuritis and microcytic anemia.

Indications

In situations causing a magnesium deficiency:

conditions of chronic physical and mental fatigue, nutritional errors (eating large amounts of processed food) and the use of slimming diets, consumption of large amounts of coffee, heavy smoking and alcohol consumption, long-term use of laxatives, contraceptives and some diuretics, and osmotic diuresis in patients with diabetes in the course of chronic hyperglycaemia, chronic diseases causing malabsorption (malabsorption syndromes), in the prevention of atherosclerosis and heart attacks.

As an adjunct, Maglek B6 can be used after consulting a doctor as an adjunct to treatment:

diseases of the heart and circulatory system, such as hypertension, congestive circulatory failure, arrhythmias, anatomical muscle spasms and numbness of the limbs, in states of nervous depression, during convalescence after bone fractures or in the comprehensive treatment of osteoporosis.

Composition

1 tablet contains:

• active ingredient: magnesium lactate 500 mg, pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) 5 mg.
• excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate.

Action

Supplementing the diet with magnesium and vitamin B6.

Dosage

Adults and children over 6 years of age: 1-2 tablets a day.

Always take the medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure. The preparation is intended solely for oral administration and short-term use. If the administration of the preparation is necessary for more than 3 days or if symptoms worsen, consult a doctor.

Contraindications

• Do not use if the patient is allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
• Hypermagnesaemia of various etiologies.
• Severe renal failure.
• Atrioventricular heart block.
• Significant arterial hypotension.
• Myasthenia gravis.
• During diarrhea.
• If you are taking levodopa without a peripheral L-DOPA decarboxylase inhibitor.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package.

Storage

Keep the preparation  out of the sight and reach of children.

Store below 25 ° C.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

With long-term use of the preparation in doses exceeding the following may appear:

• drop in blood pressure
• muscle weakness,
• breathing difficulties
• abnormal heart rhythm as a result of alkalosis or the milk-alkaline syndrome.

Occasionally:

• gastrointestinal disorders.

Long-term systematic intake of vitamin B6 in a dose of 50 mg / day may lead to:

• peripheral sensory neurotherapy.

Long-term systematic intake of vitamin B6 in a dose of 200 mg / day may lead to:

• folic acid deficiency,
• respiratory disorders,
• dermatosis.

Interactions

• Tell the doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations that the patient is taking now or recently, and about the preparations that the patient is planning to take.
• Aminoglycosides, muscle relaxants and colistin, when used simultaneously with magnesium ions, can cause muscle paralysis.
• Do not take tetracyclines, calcium compounds, phosphates, fluoride and oral anticoagulants at the same time.
• Bisphosphonates (alendronate, etidronate) should be taken at least 2 hours after or before magnesium.
• Magnesium can reduce the activity of chlorpromazine and quinologists.
• Magnesium may interfere with digoxin absorbate, nitrofurantoin and some antimalarial preparations.
• Hydralazine, isonise, cycloserine and penicillin create inactive connections with vitamin B6, reducing its concentration in the body.
• Oral contraceptives reduce the need for pyridoxine.
• Vitamin B6 can reduce the serum concentration of phenytoin.
• Patients taking levodopa without a peripheral decarboxylase inhibitor L-DOPA reduces the effectiveness of levodopa in the treatment of parkinsonism.
• Alcohol and tobacco reduce the effectiveness of magnesium absorption from the gastrointestinal tract.

Warnings and Precautions

• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
• In people with impaired renal function, the need to reduce the dose of the preparation (use to a controlled concentration of magnesium ion in the blood serum) should be taken into account.
• The preparation has no or significantly reduced effect in people with impaired intestinal absorption.
• Maglek B6 with food, drink and alcohol
• Maglek B6 should be taken before or after a meal.
• Do not take this medicine on an empty stomach as it may cause diarrhea.
• Alcohol and tobacco reduce the effectiveness of magnesium absorption from the gastrointestinal tract.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• Use only as directed by your doctor.
• The decision to use Maglek B6 in pregnant or breast-feeding women or planning to have a child should be consulted with a doctor each time.
• Driving vehicles and operating machinery
• Maglek B6 has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.
