Magne B6 is an over-the-counter medicine containing magnesium lactate and vitamin B6. Magne B6 is used to supplement magnesium deficiencies, which may occur in the case of: insufficient supply of the element, as a result of intense physical exercise, chronic stress, lack of adequate sleep. Magnesium deficiencies may manifest themselves in a number of symptoms related to the muscular system (eyelid twitching, muscle spasms, gastrointestinal spasms) or the nervous system (anxiety, mild anxiety, irritability, mood swings).

Composition

The active substances of the preparation are magnesium lactate dihydrate (Magnesii lactas dihydricus) and pyridoxine hydrochloride (Pyridoxini hydrochloridum).

Each coated tablet contains 48 mg of magnesium ions and 5 mg of pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6).

Excipients: sucrose, heavy kaolin, gum arabic, carboxypolymethylene 934, talc, magnesium stearate. Shell composition: gum arabic, sucrose, titanium dioxide, talc, carnauba wax.

Dosage

Magne B6 should always be used exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as recommended by your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. If in doubt, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

Therapeutically, adults take 6 to 8 tablets per day (in 2-3 divided doses).

Magne B6 can also be used in children over 6 years of age (when the body weight is about 20 kg or more) - 4 to 6 tablets per day (in 2-3 divided doses).

Magne B6 tablets should be taken with meals and with water.

Action

Magne B6 replenishes magnesium and vitamin B6 deficiencies in the body. Magnesium is essential for the proper course of many biochemical processes in the body, affects the state of neuromuscular excitability, plays an important role in the process of heart muscle contraction. Vitamin B6 increases the absorption of magnesium from the digestive tract.

Indications

Magne B6 is used to replenish magnesium deficiencies - they may manifest themselves as:

• nervousness, irritability, mood swings, mild anxiety, restlessness, transient fatigue, drowsiness, sleep disorders of mild intensity;
• symptoms of anxiety, such as gastrointestinal spasms or heart palpitations (without heart disorders);
• muscle cramps, tingling, eyelid twitching.
• Taking Magne B6 may alleviate the above symptoms if they result from magnesium deficiencies.

In the absence of improvement after a month of using the preparation, further use of the preparation is not justified.

Contraindications

Magne B6 should not be used in case of allergy to any of its ingredients. The medicine should also not be taken by patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml/min) and if the patient is treated with levodopa.

Side effects

Like any medicine, Magne B6 can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.

The following are observed with unknown frequency: hypersensitivity, diarrhea, abdominal pain, skin reactions, including urticaria, itching, eczema, erythema.

Warnings and precautions

Special caution should be exercised in patients with moderate renal impairment due to the risk of high levels of magnesium in the blood.

Long-term use of pyridoxine (several months or even years) may cause axonal sensory neuropathy (numbness and impaired sense of position, vibrations in distal parts of the limbs, impaired coordination).

The medicine contains sucrose, patients with rare hereditary disorders associated with fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency should not take the medicinal product

The medicine should be stored out of the sight and reach of children, at a temperature below 25 ° C. Protect from light.

Using other medicines

Tell your doctor about all medicines you are currently taking or have recently taken, as well as medicines you plan to take.

Magne B6 interacts with: levodopa (pyridoxine weakens its effect), phosphates or calcium salts (they weaken the absorption of magnesium), oral tetracyclines (magnesium reduces the absorption of tetracycline, maintain a 3-hour break).

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you should consult your doctor before using this medicine.

Magne B6 can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding after consulting a doctor who will recommend the appropriate dose. During breastfeeding, you should not take doses of vitamin B6 greater than 20 mg per day.
