Indications:

Metafen, a diastolic 40 mg, is an over-the-counter drug with drotaverine indicated for use in the event of:

• contractile states of smooth muscles associated with diseases of the biliary tract: stones in the gallbladder and biliary tract, cholecystitis.
• smooth muscle contractions of the urinary tract: kidney stones, inflammation of the renal pelvis, cystitis, painful urge to urinate.

And as an aid in contractile states of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract: in gastric and duodenal ulcer disease, in spasmodic states of the pyloric and pylorus, in irritable colon syndrome, in spastic constipation and intestinal distension. It can also be administered during painful menstruation.

Properties:

Metaphene, a diastolic 40 mg, contains an active ingredient such as drotaverine, which is a synthetic derivative of papaverine. The drug has a diastolic (spasmolytic) effect on smooth muscles. Its spasmolytic effect is related to a direct influence on the smooth muscle and is independent of the type of innervation. The action of the drug is especially marked in spasms in the abdominal cavity, biliary tract, urinary system, gastrointestinal tract and cardiovascular system.

Ingredients:

The active substance of the drug is drotaverine.

Each tablet contains 40 mg drotaverine hydrochloride.

The other ingredients are: microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, magnesium stearate.

Use:

Use in adults:

120 to 240 mg daily in 2-3 divided doses. The maximum daily dose is 240 mg.

Use in children:

Clinical trials have not been conducted in children.

If you need to use Metafen for a diastolic in children:

daily dose for children from 6 to 12 years of age: is 80 mg, divided into 2 doses

daily dose for children over 12 years of age: 160 mg, divided into 2 - 4 doses.

The drug can be used for a maximum of 10 days without consulting a doctor.

Important information:

The drug should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.
