Pharmacological properties

Neocardil contains standardized extracts of hawthorn leaves and flowers, ginkgo leaves and kudzu root, the main components of which are flavonoids (quercetin, hyperin, hyperoside, vitexin), isoflavones, organic acids, carotenoids, pectins, triterpene and flavone glycosides, choline. the pharmacological action of the preparation is due to the effects of the complex of active substances that make up its composition.

Hawthorn fruit extract has a mild cardiotonic, antianginal, antioxidant, antiarrhythmic, antiplatelet and antispasmodic effect. Improves blood supply and functional state of the myocardium, contractile and pumping functions of the heart muscle, increases the sensitivity of the myocardium to cardiac glycosides, reduces high blood pressure and normalizes heart rate.

Thanks to the content of Ginkgo biloba leaf extract, the preparation improves cerebral blood flow and the supply of brain tissue with oxygen and glucose. It has an antihypoxic and antioxidant effect, affects the rheological properties of blood and microcirculation, prevents platelet aggregation, and improves blood circulation in the extremities. Normalizes metabolic processes, has neuroprotective, antihypoxic and antioxidant effects. The preparation improves the sensory and cognitive function of the brain, prevents the deterioration of mental performance. Pueraria extract has an anti-atherosclerotic effect, eliminates spasm of coronary and cerebral vessels, reduces blood viscosity, helps prevent vascular thrombosis and diabetic complications.

Application

Adults should take Neocardil 1 capsule 2 times a day, morning and evening, or once in the morning for the entire daily dose.

The preparation can be used regardless of food. The capsules should be swallowed with water. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor. The therapeutic effect is usually noted after 1 month. In the absence of positive changes in clinical symptoms or if it worsens within 6 weeks of treatment, you should consult a doctor. The average duration of the course of treatment is 3 months.

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. severe arterial hypotension and bradycardia.

Side effects

From the digestive system: digestive disorders, dyspepsia, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting.

It is recommended to closely monitor patients who are simultaneously taking preparations that are metabolized by cytochrome P450 3A4. There is no known abuse of ginkgo biloba (EGb 761). Based on the pharmacological characteristics of the preparation, ginkgo biloba (EGb 761) has no potential for abuse.

The preparation contains lactose. Patients with rare hereditary disorders of lactase deficiency, galactosemia or glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome should not use this preparation.

Use during pregnancy and lactation. There is no data on the use of the preparation during pregnancy and lactation, therefore Neocardil is not used during these periods.

Children. There is no experience of using the preparation in children, therefore Neocardil is not used in pediatric practice.

The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or other mechanisms. In rare cases, a temporary worsening of the reaction is possible due to drowsiness.

Interactions

The results of clinical studies of interaction with ginkgo biloba (egb 761) have demonstrated its ability to potentiate or inhibit cytochrome p450 isoenzymes. the concentration level of midazolam changed after concomitant administration of ginkgo biloba (egb 761), suggesting the presence of an interaction through cyp 3a4. therefore, preparations that are mainly metabolized through cyp 3a4 and have a narrow therapeutic index should be used with caution.

Hawthorn preparations enhance the effect of quinidine, novocainamide, cardiac glycosides. It is not recommended to use hawthorn preparations simultaneously with alkaloid salts due to the formation of sediment.

The preparation potentiates the effect of antiarrhythmic preparations, enhances the effects of hypnotics, sedatives, antihypertensive preparations. Do not use the preparation in conjunction with cisapride.

Overdose

Bradycardia may occur, requiring discontinuation of the preparation.
