NO-SHPA® is an antispasmodic that eliminates smooth muscle spasms.
Drotaverine, which is the active ingredient of the preparation, relieves spasm of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal, biliary, urogenital and vascular systems. Strengthens blood circulation in tissues due to its ability to dilate blood vessels. Effectively acts on smooth muscles of both nervous and muscular origin.
Indications for use
For therapeutic purposes with:
- spasms of smooth muscles associated with diseases of the biliary tract: cholecystolithiasis, cholangiolithiasis, cholecystitis, pericholecystitis, cholangitis, papillitis;
- spasms of smooth muscles in diseases of the urinary tract: nephrolithiasis, urethrolithiasis, pyelitis, cystitis, tenesmus of the bladder.
As an adjunct treatment (when the use of the preparation in the form of tablets is not possible) with:
- spasms of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract: gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, gastritis, cardio and / or pylorospasm, enteritis, colitis;
- gynecological diseases: dysmenorrhea.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any component of the preparation (especially sodium metabisulfite). Hypersensitivity to sodium disulfite. Severe hepatic, renal, or heart failure (small cardiac output syndrome).
Advantages
Antispasmodics work on smooth muscle and relieve pain caused by spasm. The antispasmodic drotaverine is used in gastroenterology, therapy, urology and gynecology in many countries of the world.
Gastroenterology. In this area, the preparation is prescribed for spastic pain accompanying the pathology of the biliary tract - gallstone disease, acute or chronic cholecystitis, cholangitis, etc.
Urology. Inflammatory processes in the urinary organs (cystitis, pyelitis) can also lead to spasms, so the use of drotaverine for these diseases is quite justified.
Tension headaches. Drotaverine can also be used to treat tension headaches, since muscle and vascular components are present in this case.
The favorable safety profile has been confirmed by numerous clinical studies.
Method of administration and dosage
Adults: The recommended daily dose is 40-240 mg (for 1-3 separate injections) intramuscularly.
For acute colic in adult patients with stones in the urinary or biliary tract - 40-80 mg.
Route of administration: the preparation is administered intramuscularly and intravenously.
Children
Clinical studies of the use of the preparation in children have not been conducted.
Use during pregnancy or lactation
Pregnancy. As shown by the results of retrospective clinical studies and animal studies, oral administration of the preparation did not cause any signs of any direct or indirect effect on pregnancy, embryonic development, childbirth or postpartum development. However, this preparation should be used with caution in pregnant women. Drotaverine should not be used during childbirth.
Lactation. Due to the lack of data from preclinical studies during lactation, the administration of the preparation is not recommended.
Compound
Active substance: drotaverine; 1 ml of solution contains drotaverine hydrochloride 20 mg.
Excipients: sodium metabisulfite, ethanol 96%, water for injection.
Storage conditions
Keep out of the reach of children. Store in its original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.
