Phenibut is a phenyl derivative of γ-aminobutyric acid. improves gamma-mediated transmission of nerve impulses to the central nervous system (directly affects the gamma receptors of the central nervous system), improves the functional state of the brain by normalizing tissue metabolism and affecting cerebral circulation. dominant is its antihypoxic and antiamnestic effect. stimulates learning processes, improves memory, increases physical and mental performance. has a tranquilizing property: eliminates psycho-emotional stress, anxiety, fear, emotional lability, irritability, improves sleep, lengthens and enhances the effect of hypnotics, narcotic, neuroleptic and anticonvulsants. in contrast to the action of tranquilizers under the influence of noobut ​​ic, psychological indicators (attention, memory, speed and accuracy of sensory-motor reactions) are improved.

It lengthens the latency period and shortens the duration and severity of nystagmus, has an antiepileptic effect. Does not affect cholinergic receptors and adrenergic receptors. Significantly reduces the manifestations of asthenia and vaso-vegetative symptoms, including headache, a feeling of heaviness in the head. In patients with asthenia and in emotionally labile patients, from the very first days of preparation therapy, well-being improves, interest and initiative increase, motivation for vigorous activity without sedation or excitement. It was found that Noobut ​​IC, used after traumatic brain injury, increases the number of mitochondria perifocally and improves the bioenergetics of the brain. In the presence of lesions of the heart and stomach, Noobut ​​IC normalizes LPO processes.

Pharmacokinetics. The preparation is well absorbed after oral administration and penetrates well into all tissues of the body, passes through the BBB. Distribution in the liver and kidneys is close to uniform, and in the brain and blood it is below uniform. After 3 hours, a noticeable amount of the injected phenibut is detected in the urine, at the same time, the concentration in the brain tissues does not decrease, it is determined in the brain after another 6 hours. The next day, phenibut can only be detected in urine; it is also noted in the urine 2 days after ingestion, but this amount is only 5% of the administered dose. The greatest binding of phenibut occurs in the liver (80%), it is not specific. No cumulation was observed upon repeated administration.

Adults and children over the age of 14 should be prescribed 250-500 mg 3 times a day. If necessary, the daily dose can be increased to 2.5 g (2500 mg).

For children aged 3-4 years, prescribe 1 tablet (100 mg) 2 times a day, 5-6 years old - 1 tablet (100 mg) 3 times a day, 7-10 years old - 2 tablets (100 mg) 2 times a day, 11-14 years old - 2 tablets (100 mg) 3 times a day.

Higher single doses: for children under 6 years old - 100 mg, 7-10 years old - 200 mg, 11-14 years old - 300 mg, for adults and children over the age of 14 years - 750 mg, for elderly patients - 500 mg. The course of treatment is 2-6 weeks.
