Indications

A medicinal product traditionally used for constipation.

Composition

Cold-pressed castor oil (Ricini Oleum virginale) from castor seeds (Ricinus communis) 100g / 100g.

Action

Laxative. The preparation administered orally is broken down into glycerin and ricinoleic acid in the small intestine. This process takes place in the presence of bile and pancreatic juice. Then, ricinoleic acid is gradually saponified into sodium and potassium soaps. The acid and soaps have an irritating effect, increase the peristalsis of the small intestine, and increase the penetration of water and electrolytes through the intestinal walls, while limiting its absorption.

Dosage

Adults and children over 12 years of age: unless the doctor tells you otherwise: 15-30 ml (measure out using the attached measuring cup). The bowel movement occurs within 2-4 hours of taking the preparation. Use once a day.

Children from 7 to 12 years of age: only under the supervision of a doctor according to his recommendations.

Contraindications

The product is not recommended for therapy longer than 1 to several days, hypersensitivity to castor oil, inflammation of the abdominal organs, intestinal obstruction, obstruction of the bile ducts and other biliary tract diseases, rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, pregnancy, menstruation. Do not use in children under 7 years of age.
