The herbal preparation Persen Forte containing extracts of valerian root, lemon balm leaves and mint leaves, intended for use in mild states of nervous tension and difficulties in falling asleep.

Mild nervous tension, difficulty falling asleep.

1 capsule contains: dry valerian root extracts 87.5 mg, lemon balm leaves 17.5 mg and mint leaves 17.5 mg. The other ingredients are: magnesium oxide, lactose monohydrate, talc, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium sterate. Capsule shell: gelatin, red iron oxide (E 172), yellow iron oxide (E 172), titanium dioxide (E 171).

Calming.

The capsules can be taken with or without food, with a little water. Adults, including the elderly and adolescents over 12 years of age: in mild nervous tension 1 or 2 capsules two or three times a day. Difficulty falling asleep: 2 capsules one or half an hour before going to bed. The therapeutic effect is seen over a period of 2 to 4 weeks.

Persen is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age. It is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Keep the preparation out of the sight and reach of children.

Valerian root preparations can cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or abdominal cramps. Gastroesophageal reflux symptoms, especially heartburn, may worsen after taking peppermint.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations you are taking or have recently taken, and about any preparations you plan to use. Concomitant use of Persen forte and synthetic sedatives is not recommended. Do not drink alcoholic drinks while taking this medicine.

You can take a maximum of 6 capsules per day. If the symptoms worsen or do not improve after 14 days of using the preparation, contact your doctor. People with gallstone disease or any biliary disease should use mint leaf preparations with caution, and people with gastroesophageal reflux should avoid using them as they can worsen heartburn. If you have an intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. If the patient is pregnant or breast-feeding, thinks that she may be pregnant or is planning to have a baby, consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Caution should be exercised as Persen forte may impair the ability to drive and use machines.
