Indications

For the short-term alleviation of symptoms associated with chronic or recurrent constipation in adults and children over 10 years of age.

Composition

Each tablet of Pikopil 7.5 mg contains sodium picosulfate monohydrate, equivalent to 7.5 mg sodium picosulfate anhydrous. Other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, maize starch, pregelatinized maize starch, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate.

Action

Pikopil belongs to the group of laxatives that are irritating. It works by stimulating bowel movements and increases the water and electrolyte content in the lumen of the colon.

Dosage

Adults: 5 mg - 7.5 mg (started with a similar drug of a lower strength, increased to 1 tablet of Pikopil 7.5 mg) at bedtime. Children (from 10 years of age) and adolescents: 5 mg - 7.5 mg (started with a similar drug of a lower strength, increased to 1 tablet of Pikopil 7.5 mg), at bedtime.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the product.
