Plantarum is a probiotic with an innovative composition containing probiotic strains of microorganisms that have been specially selected for their beneficial properties to improve mental performance (memory and thinking process) and mental health in conditions such as stress, anxiety, depression.

Active ingredients

Strains of living microorganisms Plantarum are a component of a bi-directional communication system - the "microbiota-gut-brain axis", which combines nerve, endocrine, metabolic and immunological signals between the gut and the brain.

The Plantarum strain Lactobacillus brevis CECT 7480 was specially selected for its ability to produce the neurotransmitters GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) and dopamine. GABA is the main inhibitory neurotransmitter that regulates emotional processes such as anxiety and depression. Dopamine is actively involved in the processes of reward, motivation and learning, concentration and attention.

The Plantarum strain Lactobacillus plantarum CECT 7485 has been specially selected for its ability to produce acetylcholine and polyphosphate granules, which enhance the barrier function and reduce inflammation in the intestinal epithelium.
