Product description

Rapira 100 powder for oral solution is indicated for use:

• for the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the bronchopulmonary system, accompanied by increased production of sputum;
• in case of an overdose with paracetamol.

Compound

The active ingredient is acetylcysteine ​​(one sachet contains 100 mg of acetylcysteine).

Excipients: sorbitol (E 420), aspartame (E 951), riboflavin (E 101), orange flavor.

Contraindications

• known hypersensitivity to acetylcysteine ​​or any of the excipients;
• peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute stage;
• hemoptysis;
• pulmonary bleeding.

Mode of application

Recommended dosage:

• adults - 400-600 mg per day, divided into 1-3 doses depending on clinical conditions;
• children from 2 to 6 years old - 200-400 mg per day, divided into 1-3 doses;
• children 6 to 18 years old - 400-600 mg per day, divided into 1-3 doses.

The powder is dissolved in 1/3 cup of water.

The duration of the course of treatment is determined by the doctor individually, depending on the nature of the disease (acute or chronic).

Paracetamol overdose: in the first 10 hours after taking a toxic substance, take this preparation as soon as possible at the rate of 140 mg / kg, then at the rate of 70 mg / kg every 4 hours for 1-3 days.

The preparation  must be taken immediately after preparation of the solution.

Application features

Pregnant

Clinical data on the use of acetylcysteine ​​in pregnant women are limited. Animal studies have not revealed direct or indirect negative effects on pregnancy, embryo-fetal development, childbirth and postnatal development.

There is no information on penetration into breast milk. The preparation should be taken during pregnancy and lactation only after a careful assessment of the benefit / risk ratio.

Children

For use in children over 2 years of age.

Drivers

There is no confirmation that acetylcysteine ​​affects the ability to drive a car and other mechanisms.

Overdose

There are no data on cases of overdose of oral dosage forms of acetylcysteine. The volunteers took 11.6 g of acetylcysteine ​​per day for three months without any serious side effects. Acetylcysteine, when used at a dose of 500 mg / kg / day, does not cause an overdose.

Symptoms: Overdose may present with gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Treatment: there is no specific antidote for acetylcysteine ​​poisoning, therapy is symptomatic.

Side effects

From the immune system: infrequently - hypersensitivity; very rarely - anaphylactic shock, anaphylactic / anaphylactoid reactions.

On the part of the blood and lymphatic system: unknown - anemia.

From the nervous system: infrequently - headache.

On the part of the hearing organs and the labyrinth: infrequently - ringing in the ears.

Respiratory system: unknown - rhinorrhea.

From the side of the heart: infrequently - tachycardia.

From the side of the vessels: very rarely - hemorrhages.

On the part of the chest and mediastinal organs: rarely - bronchospasm, dyspnea.

From the gastrointestinal tract: infrequently - vomiting, diarrhea, stomatitis, abdominal pain, nausea; rarely - dyspepsia; unknown - bad breath.

Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: infrequently - urticaria, rash, Quincke's edema, itching; unknown - eczema.

General disorders and disorders at the injection site: infrequently - hyperthermia; unknown - facial edema.

Research: infrequently - lowering blood pressure.
