Description

Composition

The active substance is: naphazoline (Naphazolini nitras).

1 ml of nasal drops contains 1 mg of naphazoline nitrate.

Excipients: boric acid, sodium chloride, disodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride solution, sodium hydroxide 10% (for pH adjustment), purified water.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

A preparation for use in the nose.

1 package of the preparation should only be used by 1 person - for hygienic reasons.

Do not use for more than 3-5 days.

Children over 6 years of age, adolescents, adults: 1-2 drops in each nostril, not more often than every 4-6 hours.

Action

Rhinazin contains naphazoline, which constricts the blood vessels locally and reduces symptoms associated with inflammation.

Indications

Chronic and acute rhinitis and sinusitis caused by an allergy or infection (viral, bacterial).

Contraindications

Do not take Rhinazin:

• in case of allergy (hypersensitivity) to the active substance - naphazoline nitrate, compounds similar in structure to naphazoline (imidazole derivatives) or any of the other ingredients of this preparation,
• if you're diagnosed with narrow-angle glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyes).

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Rare side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000):

• dizziness and headaches,
• nausea,
• excessive sweat production,
• restlessness, weakness, sleepiness
• increase in blood pressure
• Heart arythmia,
• increase in blood glucose levels.

Warnings and precautions

Long-term use or excessive dosing may cause nasal congestion and swelling with an increase in the amount of secretion.

Discuss the use of the preparation with your doctor if you have: high blood pressure, diabetes, prostate hyperplasia, hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular diseases.

Do not use the preparation for more than 5 days, as it may cause changes in the nasal mucosa that are difficult to heal.

The preparation contains benzalkonium chloride which may cause irritation of the nasal mucosa.

Keep the bottle tightly closed at a temperature below 25 ° C.

Keep the preparation out of the sight and reach of children.

Use of other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations you are taking or have recently taken, and about any preparations you plan to take, including those sold without a prescription.

Rhinazin can interact with:

TLPD (tricyclic antidepressants),

MAO inhibitors (monoamine oxidase inhibitors).
