Product description

Sanorin Xylo Plus Menthol is a preparation used for diseases of the nasal cavity. Decongestant preparation for topical use.

Indications for use

• symptomatic treatment of nasal congestion with colds, hay fever, other allergic rhinitis, sinusitis;
• to facilitate the outflow of secretions in diseases of the paranasal sinuses;
• auxiliary therapy in cases of otitis media (to eliminate mucosal edema);
• to facilitate rhinoscopy.

Compound

active ingredient - xylometazoline hydrochloride;

1 ml of solution contains xylometazoline hydrochloride 1 mg;

other components: benzalkonium chloride, 1% solution (equivalent to benzalkonium chloride); disodium edetate dihydrate; disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate; sodium chloride; sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate; levomenthol; cineole; macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate; the water is purified.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to xylometazoline or to any other component of the preparation, angle-closure glaucoma, transphenoidal hypophysectomy and a history of exposure to the meninges, dry rhinitis (rhinitis sicca), or atrophic rhinitis.

Mode of application

The preparation is used for adults and children aged 12 years and older, 1 injection into each nasal passage up to 3 times a day. Apply no more than 3 times in each nasal passage a day. The duration of treatment depends on the course of the disease and should not exceed 10 days in a row.

Application features

The preparation should not be used for more than 10 days. Too long or excessive use can lead to the restoration of nasal congestion and / or atrophy of the nasal mucosa.

Pregnant

The preparation should not be used during pregnancy due to the potential vasoconstrictor effect.

Children

The preparation is not used in children under 12 years of age.

Drivers

Usually, the preparation has no effect or has a slight effect on the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.

Overdose

Excessive topical use of xylometazoline hydrochloride or its accidental ingestion can lead to severe dizziness, increased sweating, a significant decrease in body temperature, headache, bradycardia, arterial hypertension, respiratory depression, coma and seizures. Increased blood pressure can change to a lower one. Younger children are more susceptible to toxicity than adults.

Side effects

From the immune system: hypersensitivity reactions, including angioedema, rash, itching.

From the nervous system: headaches.

From the side of the organs of vision: temporary visual impairment.

On the part of the cardiovascular system: irregular or rapid heartbeat.

On the part of the respiratory system, chest and mediastinum: dryness or discomfort on the part of the nasal mucosa.

From the gastrointestinal tract: nausea.

General disorders and reactions at the injection site: burning sensation at the site of application.
