Pharmacological properties

The preparation has a local effect on the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity, causing increased reflex secretion of the glands of the mucous membrane lining the paranasal sinuses and the nasal cavity. increased reflex secretion in the form of serous-mucosal secretions develops after a few minutes and lasts about 2 hours, contributing to the drainage of the paranasal sinuses and their release from the accumulated contents. the preparation does not cause residual irritation of the mucous membrane, does not accumulate in the tissues of the nasal cavity and does not have a systemic effect.

Indications

Acute and chronic sinusitis - catarrhal or purulent sinusitis, frontal sinusitis, ethmoiditis, sphenoiditis or combined sinusitis; acute purulent sinusitis, accompanied by symptoms of generalized infection or orbital complications (in the latter case, sinuforte is used in combination with antibiotics); acute exudative otitis media (otitis media) and chronic exudative otitis media (in the latter case, treatment with sinuforte can also be carried out after myringotomy); acute and chronic rhinitis; acute allergic rhinitis or allergic rhinitis in the acute stage, including hay fever as part of complex therapy, in order to prevent the development of purulent complications; postoperative rehabilitation after endoscopic surgical interventions (ethmoidotomy, maxillary ethmoidotomy, frontoetmoidogaymorotomy).

Application

Each time it is pressed, the nebulizer-dispenser sprays 0.13 ml (2-3 drops) of the preparation, which is a single dose (0.0013 g). ready-made solution contains 35 doses of the preparation. before use, open the cap of the bottle with the powder and remove the stopper, open the ampoule with the solvent, breaking off the upper part; completely pour the solvent into the bottle with the preparation, put the dispenser on the bottle and shake until completely dissolved, remove the protective cap and make 2-3 test sprays into the air, after which the bottle is ready for use.

The solution prepared by the above method is injected with the head upright by means of a single spray into each nasal passage.

For adults and children aged ≥5 years, the preparation prepared by the above method is administered for unilateral sinusitis on the side of sinusitis 1 time per day; with bilateral sinusitis, an aerosol is injected into each nasal passage. The preparation is recommended to be used every other day, if necessary, it can be used daily. The course of treatment is 12-16 days with the use of the preparation every other day and 6-8 days with daily use.

To achieve a therapeutic effect, 6–8 injections of the preparation are enough, however, a decrease in the severity of headache or its complete disappearance can be noted after 3–5 injections of the preparation. The dosage regimen and duration of use do not depend on the nosological form of the disease. After endoscopic surgical interventions, the intranasal administration of Sinuforte is started on the second day in order to drain the airways and reduce the edema of the mucous membranes.

Contraindications

Cystic-polyposis sinusitis, during pregnancy and lactation, since the safety of use during these periods has not been studied; children under the age of 5 years, clinical data on the efficacy and safety of the preparation in such children are insufficient; hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.

Side effects

A short-term sensation of a weak or moderate burning sensation in the nasopharynx, reflex phenomena in the form of salivation, less often - short-term lacrimation and hyperemia of the skin of the face; in some cases - a short headache in the frontal region, discharge from the nose of a pale pink color as a result of capillary diapedesis. these phenomena do not require discontinuation of the preparation.

Special instructions

Avoid contact with eyes. do not inhale at the time of preparation administration.

Inadvertent contact with the eyes can cause severe irritation and acute conjunctivitis.

In the case of allergic rhinitis, the use of systemic antihistamines is permissible only 2 hours after the intranasal administration of Sinuforte. Antiallergic preparations can be used at least 8-10 hours before intranasal administration of Sinuforte. When using Sinuforte after surgery, there is no need for traditional postoperative rehabilitation measures, such as anemization, sinus lavage and nasal toilet.

An increase in the dose of the preparation does not lead to an increase in the therapeutic effect.

Interactions

It is unacceptable for the simultaneous introduction into the nasal cavity of the preparation sinuforte and local anesthetic or antihistamines for topical use or the preliminary use of these preparations. if necessary, additional use of nasal dekongentsants (solutions containing epinephrine, ephedrine, etc.) is allowed. for purulent sinusitis, it is used simultaneously with antibiotics.

Overdose

Overdose cases of Sinuforte have not been described. exceeding the recommended dose may be accompanied by a sensation of severe burning and pain in the nasopharynx.

Storage conditions

In the dark place at a temperature of 15-25 ° C. freshly prepared solution is stored at a temperature of 8–10 ° C in a dark place for no more than 15 days.
